No they don’t... it’s anti-legit good players lmao. My other account that I started popping off with a sniper on, got perma banned. If enough people you play against think you’re cheating and report you, Bungie will have you automatically banned without a real person at Bungie reviewing the person and their activity. This has happened to plenty of cracked streamers like Sweatcicle for example. But he was able to get the ban appealed because of his big name. Bungie doesn’t go out of their way to appeal bans of random people like me and countless others

Sweat got banned for using cheats. He never got it overturned - the issue is that he and any other cheater can just make a new profile and be back within an hour. The ban is so frivolous that people incorrectly assume he got his original account back.

I never heard about him using any kind of cheats. Maybe that’s true but I doubt it.

Yeah I think he got snagged in trials. I vividly remember him saying "I'm gonna use cheats this time, I hope I don't get caught." But either way, even before trials he didn't get a single crucible pinnacle by actually playing comp. He (and/or his team) used network manipulation to match nobody & have 1m7s wins, which is also a no-no.
