Sniper Rifles are easy mode in 90% of FPS games but people want to live in the mentality that they're skillful, MLG weapons because "muh montage" "muh quickscope."
Kill them off in PvP and the game would improve 100%.

I don't consider anything to be very skillful in this game due to the large hitboxes and AA/Magnetism everything has.

This isn't the FPS games forums, it's the Destiny forums. If you feel the need to complain about sniper rifles in every FPS, then you should probably stop playing them in general. You seem to be under the impression that because they kill in one shot, they are overpowered. If you have no appreciation for what makes a weapon balanced beyond the scope of how much damage it does, you are beyond hopeless.

Edited by Erijian: 9/23/2020 3:59:39 AMWhat makes Sniper Rifles balanced are things like slow handling, long zoom, descope, flinch, very low to no aim assistance, small hitboxes, bullet drop and the overall time to kill in the game. If you're running around with a Sniper Rifle playing hyper aggressive successfully in a game like Battlefield you're genuinely good due to the systems that keep them in check over there. Running around with a Sniper Rifle in a game like Destiny is legimate easy mode. Huge hitboxes, high aim assistance, snappy as hell, low zoom, slow TTKs and FLINCH THAT HELPS YOU LAND CRITS. Now I could care less about the first four because that's just how Destiny 2 is but one thing really gets to me. The thing that bugs me? Flinch. Flinch is the one thing that is fundamentally broken in this game for everything. Flinching towards a target's precision location is some of the most idiotic design choice I've ever seen. This design choice becomes extremely obnoxious when dealing with weapons that have infinite range and kill with a single precision hit (snipers and linears). Anyway, that's all I have to say.

You need skill to use sniper....ive just started trying to snipe and it's not so easy !

Not at first. Especially if you have no thumbs (like me, lol). But as with everything, practice will make it easier. I call myself the worst sniper in the world as I’m pretty bad with them as a whole. But even I can see where they are busted, especially looking back at some clips where there is no way my shot should have resulted in a kill.
