Snipers really aren’t that big of a deal, they’re popular but your just as likely to run into someone that couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat as someone who can destroy with them As for flinch, there are times where I’ll land when I probably shouldn’t have and visa versa, but it’s not consistent at all and while some primary weapons TTK is a little iffy, 600rpm autos (which is what the vast majority of players use) have a brilliant TTK, and very impressive range which means even if you tank the damage to get the shot off, you’re probably going to end up dead too! Added to that most players don’t actually use their primary weapon, flinch doesn’t matter - if you’re 25m away and you put a couple of bullets into someone using a sniper and they dome you, that’s on you for starting the engagement too early! Snipers clearly have the highest skill ceiling of the special weapons in the game - while fusion rifles have died off a little because Erentil is no longer going to relevant in the end game, Bastion is nutty! Shotguns are still the most dominant special in crucible and in the hands of a good player incredibly potent and Mountaintop in the hands of a good player is virtually unplayable - the only counter to all three of those specials types is, sniping them before they can get into range and melt you...which is their only purpose in a game like this... Nerf them, change them, weaken them and shotguns will just dominate again and you still won’t be able to flinch someone out of a shot 😂🤷‍♂️

Since they also have no mechanical drawbacks, can you realistic/honestly say they're skill based? In terms of most skilled dependent would probably have to go to slug shotguns. How often do you meet a person who just ace's that archtype? Outside The Chaperone, most of them have really low AA (especially first in last out), pretty much have to do what snipers do with the high risk of a non-slug shotgun user. But even they can be cheated, just by a bit. [b]I made this topic for people with the opinion on snipers being skilled base, "but are you really? [i]this game[/i] took away all the weaknesses of sniping in the nature of FPSing, how can you still be hard to use at this point? [/b] This game is hands down the most sniper friendly game I have ever touched.

    Really? Because there’s plenty of .8 kd bots with zero gun skill but still running around popping heads with snipers right now.

    None :) the difference is shottys are near point blank only, snipers are close range, medium range, and long range.
