It was done because they made a mistake.
Fixed mistake and got hit with complaints. Instead of leaving lake of shadows up for several weeks, they allowed players to farm it double 1 week. Sucks for people who couldn’t play this week
I will give them credit when they choose to do something like this on their own. Not cause by a bug. Not cause by a 2 month delay in dlc. Not cause by not thinking about this when they delayed the season.
Stuff like this should be a norm every once in while. Not forced by mistakes.

Damn yall really just hate bungie huh? Warframe did the same thing, but got praised for it(made a well received bug a feature, bullet jump) Maybe it's the community.

It’s the community on this forum. You could add everything they want, and let them even do it, and they would still cry and complain that it was messed up and it was bungies fault.
