A paywall isn't going to stop cheaters, especially when you consider how much people are willing to pay for decent level cheats.... Bungie needs a better anti cheat system or to drop Destiny on PC

  • It would deter the majority of cheaters. If someone had to pay each time their account was banned they would lose a lot of money. Taking away the ability to create new free accounts every time they get caught cheating would allow the community and bungie to take action against them. The only reason why we can't do anything now is because they can create alts .

  • It takes months for Bungie to catch cheaters.... In that timespan the cheater has spent several times more than the "Pay wall" just to cheat. Not to mention a lot of the cheaters are making money off of this by charging for carries and recovs. A paywall will not do much to slow down cheaters when they clearly have the money to leapfrog it.

  • Then add 2FA and ban their credit/debit card, phone #, and hardware. Change the EULA if you have to in order to legally deny them service after they commit the crime. (yes soliciting is against the EULA contract and can be tried in court.) The only thing bungie would need to do then is focus on efficiently banning people. If bungie really wanted to be a pain in the ass too cheaters they could. 1. make 2FA mandatory 2. hardware ID ban their mac and component serial numbers 3. Ban their IP (not very effective, just another way to be a pain in the ass.) 4. Ban their card and payment method. 5. Take legal action against anyone they can to deter anyone else from soliciting. 6. Have websites like guardian services legally taken down. 7. Maybe finally invest in some better anti cheat and ban "unauthorized" VMs from being used. maybe Ban VPNS too and get dedicated servers.

  • So, you are just saying they should have better anti-cheat system. Well you say they should lock pvp behind paywall. So, I want to clear out whether you want to lock only pvp behind paywall or make it a part of expansion and then again lock it for money cuz this will cause double duty. IMO if, they lock content behind series of paywall even the legit players will feel frustrated about it. And, if they only lock pvp behind paywall then I don’t think it’ll be much of a problem for cheaters to just buy the pvp mode as they make a lot of money even before they get caught. F2P is the only thing keeping this game alive and, bungo know that. They even made D2 a game pass addition just, to increase the player base. So, I don’t think F2P is gonna go away anytime soon.

  • The only paywall i am suggesting is putting it behind the DLC paywall iteself. They could have an expansion related play list and a f2p playlist everyone can play. (Kind of like how there was DLC based vanguard play lists in Strikes in D1 like the vanguard rock strike playlist.)
