The other day I was just farming tokens in PvP by using boons. I was preparing for a potential loot pool refresh in Beyond Light.
Then I came across a game where I was with a friend and we had 4 solos. We matched a stack of 6 players. These players all had inflated stats, haven't solo queued or lost a match in months, were running a strict meta loadout, and were coordinating like they were in a tournament. They all had autos, paired with either Revoker, Beloved, or a shotty, and Wardcliff Coil.
They also deliberately allowed my team to cap all three zones so they could farm us and their stats. They are able to do this because no matchmaking system, SBMM or CBMM, can possibly give them a decent fight, as indicated by their game history. These guys won 100% of their matches last season with SBMM enabled.
I won every single one of my 1v1 engagements, but I had only a handful of those. Virtually all my fights were 1v3 or worse. I performed best on my team and only had a 0.6.
Upon inspection of the players (https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/psn/iMisyz_/matches), it seems like not only are their stats inflated, but also some have not solo queued ever and do this same tactic exclusively to get several hundred match long win streaks. Some also have a K/D of 90+ in Trials with less than 1 kill per game on average and a lot of Trials wins with zero kills.
So I personally shrug stuff like this off and move on. But what about my teammates? What about the other players this team matched? Go ahead. Track them. What you'll find is most of those players did not enter PvP again.
Players like this, considering their intention and method, are griefing and are actively reducing the PvP population. Not to mention their impact on Trials.
So tell me, why are players like this allowed to match solos, if play at all considering the stats and griefing?
A matchmaking system to make teams like this match similar teams has to be implemented.

Edited by Yamabushi999i: 9/6/2020 2:58:00 PMThe YouTuber cabal including but not limited to Cammycakes, Fallout, Mtashed, Coolguy et al collectively whined with coordinated videos of complaints against SBMM. Sweaty games they cried, forgetting they're sweaty, skilled players. The sheep duly followed their instructions. So Bungie heard a whole load of bleeting and in a desperate bid to what they think is keeping certain players content did the absolutely idiotic move of removing fair competitive matching. You couldn't make this stupid stuff up, you really couldn't. I would formerly tend to hate those who leave games in PvP or Gambit but now, I'd recommend everyone does it, all the time, at the slightest indication of ridiculous mismatches. Or just stop playing PvP altogether until if or when Bungie undoes some of the layers of damage they've inflicted to the game as a whole and for solo players especially - their paying customers they least give a shiztsu about.
