And you don't even get the whole content. Not only the stuff that will get vaulted, but also the stuff that was already PERMANENTLY removed (not vaulted, removed!) Bungie Defenders are like Social Justice Warriors. But SJWs at least have good intention, Bungie defenders are simply trolls.

Someone literally broke an NDA to tell us bungie was in fact reworking the vaulted areas and bungie themselves said all DCV content was F2P. You just wanna be mad at something dude.

  • Hearsay. And how do they explain it lorewise, if they do it? I don't bet on it if I'm not entirely sure. I won't keep my hopes up. What's gone is gone, most likely.

  • The same way they’re explaining it lore wise now. Pyramids showed up on all soon to be vaulted planets, slowly corrupting them and undoing the terraforming done by the Traveller. Also there’s a live event emblem already datamined for this season, meaning there will likely be a live event giving us more lore context as to what they’re actually doing. Then in season 15 or 22 or whenever, we go back to reworked versions of the planets to clear them of their respective pyramids. And it’s not just heresay, he was at a summit and discussed what was said to him, by a bungie dev, at that summit. That’s what he (a streamer) was told

I just simply can't believe it. They have so few manpower to do anything and they can overhaul complete old content? I simply can't imagine how that should work. They are vaulting because they can't handle it anymore. The last two games I played got sunset completely. And I see clear signs of that here as well. Sunsetting is just the first step to a complete game sunset. Slowly but it's dying. But even if I don't like all decisions Bungie does I still keep supporting the game. But I am not so naive to think the game is thriving or anything like that.

Lol it’s not because they can’t handle it, it’s because the content is literally never played unless it’s forced on you. They gave us the numbers for last season (where you weren’t forced to go to mars for something) and literally only 3000 people played Warmind/Mars content last season. That’s .3% of the active players. Meanwhile Mars as a planet takes up 5% of the 100+ gigs of the game. That’s just a waste of space that’s gonna cause loading issues and patching issues. That’s also why every season since Undying we’ve had a ton of bugs and weekly bug fixes. At a certain size, every new update just makes it buggier. We’re at that size. I don’t know why people act like the games dying. Its the 12th most played game on steam, one of the most daily played games in the world. It’s literally got a higher player population right now than it did in season of opulence, which most regard as the best non-expansion season. There’s no telling how much Microsoft paid them to put it on games pass, and bungie made 200k in the first 2 days of solstice just off the finisher alone. So population and finance wise, they’re not even close to dying. And I feel like those are the 2 main factors in those decisions. Lastly Bungie has trouble keeping up the flow of new content. Old content, however, is a hell of a lot less work to recode and put into an updated engine. That’s why we get a new Skyrim game ever year. This might actually provide us with the amount of content we want, rather than the small public events and mini-menagerie stuff we’ve seen in Y3. Getting strikes and raids throughout the year as well as whatever else they haven’t told us is coming back.

Gigs? I play on PC. I couldn't care less about diskspace. It's definitely because of the noodlecode and reduce of manpower, not because console players don't want to change their 128 kilobyte SDD for an outdated but bigger Western Digital Black Edition 6TB HDD. I don't mean it's dying now. But I can't see without major changes the game will survive more than two years. But for our all sake. I hope you're right, Mister optimistic person. I hope you are right. It would be better for us players if you are.

  • See I play on console and I only have 1TB to work with. I’d rather not 1/7th of it go strictly to D2. Between that and Warzone I’d basically lose 4-500gigs on 2 games. And since a majority of the players are on console they can’t really give that much data up just for the PC master race. I’ve seen this all play out before in D1’s Taken King. They sunset the infamous Gjallarhorn, Fatebringer, Black Hammer combo that was basically required for endgame pve content. Players went off on these forums saying this would be the final nail in the coffin(and back then they were getting thousands of likes, not a couple hundred.) a couple months went by, and no one seemed to care anymore. I’m willing to bet the same will happen with vaulted/sunset stuff in November. Once players start playing the new content for a season or 2 they’ll realize the only reason they ever really went to those planets at all was only for bounties or flashpoints.

The PC players ain't master race, they simply have bigger HDDs because they choosed to. If you can't do that on console it's not the PC players' fault. I simply don't believe the diskspace myth. I know you can change the HDD/SDD even on consoles nowadays. What's wrong with it. I visit Mars quite often for bounties (of course I close my ports before abusing the Escalation Protocol to not annoy random players). And for cabal enemies I visit the Ma'adim Subterran. And I simply like the design of the Mars. And my favorite campaign alongside CoO is Warmind, the Ana Bray campaign on Mars. And I gonna play it again this month since they remove it. I wanted to play it a bit later again, but Bungie now forces me to do it now, otherwise it's too late for it.

  • I’m just quoting the internet. No need to devote a paragraph to it. This issue is that mars as a whole is probably the best of the 4 leaving. While still having the weakest of the 5 stories from a sheer lore perspective (aka killing crotas brother and Oryx’s god in missions/strikes) it was at least the most fleshed out of the vaulted planets. Having the most extra/hidden content in puzzles, quests, EP public events, and so forth. And remember this was still only used by .3% of players. Now let’s jump over to Titan. Literally no season, expansion or anything has happened on Titan until this season. Since the vanilla campaign, the only thing to be added to Titan was the start (literally just the start) of the Outbreak Perfect quest. If mars has all that stuff, and only 3k people were willing to go it last season, how few people were going to Titan last season? How about IO? Mercury? See these planets are extremely underdeveloped by comparison to the size of places like EDZ/Nessus and the depth/secrets of place like the Dreaming City or (hopefully) Europa. I would much rather them be taken out and given a proper rework where large areas are added or changed because of the pyramids, than see small changes added to them every 3-10 seasons.

  • I hope you're correct and they are really reworking them and not only vaulting them and then bringing them halfbaked back with a pseudo rework.
