Part Three
“Here we go,” Skye breathed as she tapped a few more keys on her keyboard. “I’ll stay here for a wee bit longer to make sure he didn’t leave behind any more traps, then I’ll be with you all as soon as I can. Remember we’re not trying to kill him, and be careful. Good luck.”
The blast doors before each hero slid open, revealing a large and circular room with high ceilings. In the very center was the core, a glass cylinder fifty feet in diameter, elevated on a dais and glowing faintly with blue light. Errol stood before it with a wide stance, alone and without his Atoms by his side. His head whipped around to make eye contact with his enemies as each door opened. For a brief moment, concern grew on his face, only to harden again. He raised his chin in defiance, and held out his hands on either side of himself, as though to challenge his opponents.

“How did ye come across that laboratory? It doesn’t seem like ye built it.”
-
“Built it? Oh, no way. Um... Errol and I found it in the mountain while we were exploring one day. We have... no idea who built it or how long it was there.”
-
“Interesting. It may be important to try to fighter out who built the thing then.”
-
Edited by Gingiebread: 9/1/2020 5:54:55 AM“We’ve tried,” Errol pipes in. “I even looked into it again before you all came here. All information about who could built the lab and worked in it seem to be non-existent.”
-
“Odd, like they were removed from history. Only makes the place more eerie.”
-
Skye nods and crosses her arms, her eyes dropping down to her feet. “Aye, I guess it does. It must have been there for years, and I don’t think our father knew anything about it. It’s almost like it just... appeared.”
-
“Like a ghost? Well something had to have built it. Maybe it’s best we don’t know what, unless it comes back of corse.”
-
“Like a ghost? Well something had to have built it. Maybe it’s best we don’t know what, unless it comes back of corse.”
-
“You’re probably right. There is no clue as who what kind of people built it.” “Speaking of the laboratory,” Errol begins, “we may have to go back to get the gloves so we can destroy them as soon as possible.” Skye suddenly gives a lopsided smile and holds up the gloves. “I grabbed them right before we left.”
-
“Good, he brought them so Errol can’t go back and be tempered again.”
-
As his eyes fall on the gloves, Errol’s brow furrows, almost angrily. Skye looks at him strangely, and lowers the gloves. “Errol? Um... maybe we should go light father’s forge...”
-
“Aye, that would be best, let’s get going.”
-
Errol shakes his head slightly, and his expression fades. He glances between Skye and Dain and begins to turn away towards one of the bedrooms. “Go without me. I shouldn’t be anywhere near them.” “A-are you sure?” Skye asks in concern. “I’m sure. Just get it over with so we can say this whole ordeal is finished.” He steps into the bedroom and shuts the door softly. Skye sighs and nods towards the front entrance of the house. “Um... the forge is this way.”
-
“Alright.” *He leans his axe up against a wall and follows.*
-
The rain seems to have lightened up a bit as Skye heads toward a sturdy shed. She rolls the large door open and enters an old smithy, neatly organized and clean despite lack of use. The forge lies cold, waiting to once again have purpose.

Edited by Loot: 8/24/2020 9:39:36 PM*Loot strides into the room* Well hello Prey! *he tips his head to Errol* Your marble collection is quite extensive isn't it? Now please give up, your dear sister so ever much wants to heal your wounded depraved heart, honestly, I don't understand either of your motives. You're too far gone to be saved, and your beloved father is long dead.
-
“You could be correct either way, but my father’s murderers are still out there, and so is all of the corruption hiding in plain sight. I won’t let it stand much longer.”
-
*Loot laughs* Do you really think you can change anything? Do you truly believe that you are on the side of "right"? Your delusions know no bounds. Besides, there are much finer things to pursue than revenge for someone who can't even acknowledge it.
-
Errol rolls his eyes. “How would a demon of greed understand what ‘right’ even means? Let’s just get this over with. I’m tired of the suspense.”
-
Well you're about as bright as an unlit candle, you obviously missed my sarcasm, but let's begin.*Loot leaps into the air and unfurls his wings, his shirt tears apart, Vastitas and Hunger dissapear, and behind Loot's wings 7 green circular hexes appear and rain down green fire*
-
Lol, honestly, I myself didn’t catch the sarcasm.
Errol’s gaze snaps from Blaze and Dally to Loot. More than ready for a fight, he is quick on his feet and narrowly dodges around the flames. He moves to stand close in front of the core, and a familiar crimson glow emits from his gloves. A large shadow is cast over the space around Loot, as a flood of Atoms comes crashing down towards him.
-
*Loot moves the hexes around his body and they explode outwards*
-
The Atoms split as they fall to avoid the explosions. They hit the ground, their mass spreading out over that side of the room.
-
*Loot hovers in the air* Why do you persist in fighting? The only thing that will be accomplished is your... Demise, perhaps that's what you want?
-
Errol doesn’t respond, as with a wave of his hand the Atoms below Loot gather together and shoot up at him in attempt to knock him out of the air.
