Your problem is that you think the Developers get to decide anything important when working for a company. The disconnect is between players and the owners/managers/investors. Players want a game that is fun to play and the other side wants to make as much money as possible. (Also these didn't used to be opposing goals) So whenever anything is changed/added/removed or whatever, the question isn't "Does this make the game better?" it's "How does this make us more money?" It is our own fault that games have become the way that so many are these days. We proved over and over and over (add like fifty more over's to this) that as a customer base we would not only accept but give them far more money if they sold us broken, chopped up, buggy, and extra grindy messes of games so that they can sell us the fixes later. The only way it gets fixed at this point is if the whales all stop being whales, which isn't going to happen so best to get a nice collection of games from before 2010~ish and just enjoy them.

  • WE didnt do anything. Losers with a lot of money from whatever loner job they have, and no life, dont care about dropping thousands of dollars on these types of games. Bungie Fd up D2, got tired of it, made Eververse the endgame...and here we are.

  • There are some great games from 2010 onwards that don’t chase the MTX cash (Great bargains in there too at the moment ) • Zelda, Breath of the Wild • The Witcher 3 GOTY (huge game) • Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition • God of War • Dark Souls 3 • Nioh: Complete Edition • Super Mario Odyssey • Spider-Man • Jedi: Fallen Order • Ghost of Tsushima • Detroit: Become Human Are a few... And some (obviously only announced games so far) heading for PS5 that will have none whatsoever • GodFall • Outriders • Horizon: Forbidden West

Ngl. I am hoping Outriders can fill the hole Destiny left in my heart so I can forever close the book on this game. Destiny has become something that isn't a good fit for my lifestyle anymore, almost maliciously so, but there are not really any other games that quite do what it does. Outriders seems like it could.

It wont. any game that hasn't been able to see bungies failings is doomed to repeat it. The game looks better recently, but unfortunately has stale art direction, 'any body' weapons and art direction, etc Even bungie gave up, this isnt a loot game any more. There is no other game like destiny and no other company is willing to put in the resources. Destiny shows that these kinds of games cannot have PVP attached to it, or its going to settle the same fate those lazy bums at bungie created for this game. PVP crybabies WILL destroy any PVE game...it is what it is. *** ** The special sauce is that bungie was truly trying to set this game up for esports, and it totally blew up in their face- leading to half a year just reverting back to 6v6, while pve began its deathly content droughts. (well, again) Imagine if bungie actually gave a shit about players...there wouldnt be sunsetting (armors, LOL), the useless light system would be gone, and strikes would be plentiful and actually have drops. But thats just it...IMAGINE is the key word with these useless meatbags. They never intended to make this game more awesome. They always intended to make this a mobile style least amount of content possible for eververse gains POS. enjoy!!!!

I agree that the art direction for Outriders is generic, but I'm maintaining optimism. For one, it doesn't have PvP, so it's automatically got that leg up on Destiny. For another, I want something in the spirit of Destiny, but not something that requires every waking minute of your time. Outriders being a primarily single-player experience means I should be able to enjoy it at my own pace. From what I've seen of it, it most reminds me of Remnant: From the Ashes, which I think is a fantastic game. Unfortunately, that game is from a much smaller team with a much smaller budget and the majority of that team has moved on to their next project. If Outriders is similar to Remnant with a longer support cycle, that is honestly enough for me. I understand not everyone will feel the same way, but Destiny hasn't been Destiny for me in a long time. So I'm ready for something new.

Remnant has one more big update coming and that's a wrap so you can have some more fun with that. I haven't actually tried it because it kind of screams be game to me but I've got to clear some hard drive space if maybe I should. My Xbox homies I have wanted a game we can all play but since we all have different genres we enjoy it's been tough. I'm not sure if you're a Diablo fan but games like Diablo and PSO2 which its original was actually based on Diablo, those are the only true Luther games on the market. There's a couple of other here and there but no other games like these two are actually about drops and what you pick up in the field and true RPG character building. Even though Diablo is old as hell Diablo 3 is so bloody awesome I would highly highly it. That engine is god like in what it throws at the screen, and destiny's classes can only dream of the various weapons that change your gameplay completely for each class. It's bloody amazing. I'm so glad Phantasy Star is back because since it launched I have played about 3 hours of destiny. That was in February and I stopped playing destiny in a week after the update. We deserve better... Some of us have put hundreds of dollars into this game over the years just to see the developer half an hour faces. the last thing I'll leave here is that apparently we're getting one strike with the expansion. That should tell you everything you need to know about these guys priorities. Pathetic. Ah well godspeed gamer. There are some common sense based like minds in here!

  • Skyrim introduced micro transactions with Oblivion (horse armour!) seen as ridiculous abs outrageous back in the day 1 of the very first tests for micro-transactions by Bethesda Destiny 1 still has Eververse & those boxes (although barely noticeable)

  • Is Luke Smith a developer? Or something else? Because he seems to be the guy that controls the direction of the game, and imo, it usually is in the wrong direction.
