Ummmm Activision were just the publishers... not the games directors. The removal of content and direction of game design.... That’s all Bungies doing as it’s always been “ their “ game.

  • I’m not sure you understand how much control over the game the publishers have. For example, EA gets to decide that Respawn will work on Apex legends for another 10 years.

  • This is not accurate. Why do you think there were reports of Bungie employees breaking out in celebration when they were informed they were leaving Activision? Yes, Bungie is Destiny, Activision is a publisher, but it's pretty common knowledge Activision takes a this way or no way approach, they don't just publish they interfere.

  • Shes right, bungie make the choices for the game and always have, Activision simply set dates for release and had thier other studios help with content such as spire of stars Your problems are with bungie and its incredibly naive to blame Activision for thier choices - especially considering that post Activision bungie have been doing worse content and quality wise

  • The following is a statement from bungie January 10th 2019 when they separated themselves from Activision. "Today, we're announcing plans for Bungie to assume full publishing rights and responsibilities for the Destiny franchise. Going forward, Bungie will own and develop the franchise, and Activision will increase its focus on owned IP and other projects. Activision and Bungie are committed to a seamless transition for the Destiny franchise and will continue to work closely together during the transition on behalf of the community of Destiny players around the world." As indicated there from the horse's mouth, "Going forward Bungie will own and develop" I don't want to flood the topic with a civil disagreement, so I won't insist any further ✌🏼❣️ but my impression as I said from the horse's mouth was a clear message that they did not have the developmental control that people attributed to them. It's also pretty evident as the game since leaving Activision has improved drastically across almost every single aspect of the game.

  • It's not evident that game improved drastically since Activision. Do you have source on that? Or just your personal opinion?

  • Just Google it my man. You will find that both profits and concurrent player base are up. As well as general feedback not just for myself but from the majority. Yes, not everyone will always like everything unfortunately. I'm not saying it's perfect myself. But there's been a lot of improvements and beyond light has a lot of hype behind it because it looks good, it looks like a good direction. And thankfully, one we haven't taken before.

From the low, surely numbers are up. Numbers are up, because it's now F2P. Do you think, people would have paid as they paid In D1 if D2 in this state was structured the same? Again, Bungie is known for making the hype and not being able live up to it most of the time. I don't mind you or people liking rhe game as it is ot the direction it's heading. But you can't make up your own truths. And where are you getting the general good feedback? Reddit? Forums? Sales numbers? An outsider can look at a certain subreddit and think Desinty 2 is a heaven for players and always has been. Then the same outsider can see this forum and think D2 is dumpster fire. If you could be clear on that part?

  • You misunderstood the part about bungie owning the IP rights to Destiny in its entirety.... they have always had sole responsibility for the games content and development. Activision provided money, publishing, distribution and extra studios.. not game direction. I am not an Activision fan but bungie signed the contract for multi millions of dollars... no one forced them. As has been published in various company reports... bungie were not preforming and taking up valuable resources hence the “split”.

  • That statement literally mentions publishing rights - that's all Activision had access towards - eververse, factions, literally all aspects of the game were bungies choices and something activison did not get involved with Look at it this way: pre Activision drop out we got content like forsaken, Blaine armory, opulence, post Activision ddop out we got shadowkeep, dawn, worthy and undying, you decide for yourself which era was better
