Recycling - Exactly
By recycling weapons/armor/planets you tell the long time player base that they don't matter. When you sunset the items they collected over that time you tell them they are disposable and never mattered.

Edited by Snez: 8/14/2020 10:49:22 PMSunsetting i believe is to base the game on exotics and so you will always have that extra thing to chase; to me it sounds better than a lot of ppl make it out to be. You aren’t losing anything, it’s being capped; Pinnacles are also being removed from endgame, they are painful to get but in turn take little to no skill to use and get boring all while exotic become a laughingstock. It just seems like a sloppy clearance of old weapons, but is fair that they are kept so not all investment into them is in vain. Recycling does suck, I personally wouldn’t mind year 1 favourites getting random rolls; that’s as far as I would go.
