Good for you! This game hasn't been fun for a while now. It makes no sense to support a game that makes you work after work. It's not just the grind, but the fact that your grind is meaningless as everything you work hard to achieve gets sunset or nerfed to the ground. Let them have fun with the dwindling numbers. This game will become like DCUO, a game that went from top 10, and over 300k players to 6k players. I'll be laughing at them if that happens :p

https://www.statista.com/statistics/1077903/destiny-2-number-players-steam/ Here you go. Players wont be dropping anytime soon. https://steamcharts.com/app/1085660 Anyway you are partly correct. Its a live service game, the game is only as good when its been constantly updated. Until we get confirmation of content after 2023 Destiny could be left for another IP Bungie could be working on. Not a lot of live service games maintain the same playerbase they once do when they were in the prime. You are also trying to compare a game from a different genre and a different time. The game industry has changed a lot, F2P games have impacted the industry a lot with why and how people play games. Destiny aint goin anywhere soon. (btw those are steam numbers, assume there are twice as much on console). 500-700k is good for any game. It means the game has a playerbase that enjoys the game they are playing and will come back for content in the future.

  • Where do you get 500 to 700k? Check warmind.io and steam charts. The last 30 days have averaged 63,616 players on PC. If 34 percent play on PC (acc. to warmind, last 3 hours) maths say 63,616 divided by .34 equals approx. 187,106 players per day over the last 30 days. If you’re going off of Destinytracker - those numbers are known to be wrong. This is a game with a thin player base spread out across too many lobbies.

  • Console has way more. Even so 300k is more appropriate. Thats still more then enough for this game to be stable.
