•
It is, but if you want to sign up for the final battle, there only two spots left! When I post the final battle, however, depending on how quickly the group is finished I might open it up for people to join in solo, if you don’t get a spot :P

I think I’ll pass the final battle off to someone who might be more active but if nobody else takes a spot I’ll join!
Four men dressed in black tactical garb covered partially by dark brown cloaks walked into the Inn. They walked over to the nearest open table and quietly sat down. As they sit, the one facing Cara at the table noticed her and waved in a slightly overzealous and almost childish fashion.

  •
Sounds good! I know you said you had a few ideas, so if you want I can PM you and let you know if I decide to take in some solos. :D
Cara watched them with interest, then looked at that one man in particular strangely, wondering if she knew him. However, the group was a little too far away for her to get a proper glance. Having finished scrubbing her table, she tossed her rag into a nearby bucket and wiped her hands on her apron as she made her way toward them. She gave a friendly smile, turning to each of them to subtly examine their faces. “‘ello, there! Welcome ta the Silver Stag. Can I get ye anythin’? Cold brew, hot meal? Both, perhaps?”
Go for it!
“Evening Miss, we’re looking for all the above and a place we can stay.” The man sitting to Cara’s right responded as the man facing her started waving again and spoke. “Hello!” The man sitting to her right grabbed the waving man’s forearm and slowly forced it down to the table while still looking at Cara. “Don’t mind Dublin, he can act like a child sometimes.” “I do NOT!” Dublin pulled his hand out of the man’s grasp with ease.

  • Cara watched the exchange quietly, her brow twitching with interest at Dublin’s name. She nods to man to her right. “I can take yer orders fer supper first, then I can organize rooms fer ye. Wha’ would each o’ ye like? We’ve got soups, broths, breads, cakes, pies, an’ meats. An’ fer drinks everythin’ from water ta tea ta ale.”

  • As Cara mentioned the alcohol the man to her left’s eyes lit up. The man to her right immediately stared him down and pointed at him. “No. Franco, you can’t drink while on the job. You know this.” “Ahhh piss off Gillian! You know damn well we aren’t doing anything for the next week besides walking in the woods, looking for that hermit Carter or whatever” Gillian gave Franco the meanest death glare Cara had ever seen, it seemed to turn the whole room’s aura ominous. “If you’re this bad at not spilling beans while sober, you definitely shouldn’t be getting drunk!” Dublin smiled playfully at Cara with his eyes closed, his perfectly white teeth shone as the light caught it. He shrugged his shoulders while holding his hands out, his palms facing the ceiling. “They’re always like this, sorry! Hehe!” Franco and Gillian ignored him and continued to bicker. Dropping his hands, Dublin opened his eyes and sighed. He began pondering what he wanted. “Do you have any apple juice by chance? Oh and what about some mashed potatoes? I haven’t had those in a while!” He smiled again as Franco and Gillian began arguing about small stuff Cara couldn’t care less about. The fourth man sat quietly with his back still to Cara, not even attempting to turn to see her or make any form of communication.

  • Cara paused at the mention of Carter, a name that was familiar to her from her conversations with Sitri a long time ago. However, they had continued arguing before she could respond. She dropped her face into the palm of her hand and let out a frustrated breath. When she lowered her hand again, she pointed a finger at them. “Heaven’s sake, I won’ have any squabblin’ in this inn ta-night! I don’ trust any o’ ye drunk, so there will be no drinks o’ tha’ sort. Now is there anythin’ more I can get ye, or will ye all be havin’ juice an’ taters?” She looks to the quiet one of the group. “An’ I can’t read minds so be sure ta speak up.”

  • At Cara’s outburst, Franco began laughing heartily and Gillian put his hand on his face. “Ok lil’ lady, whatever makes you happy!” “Of course you listen to her but not your team lead...” Gillian sighed and Dublin joined in the laughter. “I’ll take a water...” The previously silent man spoke. His voice was much quieter and softer than the rest. “I’ll second that request and I’ll also take a large slab of meat.” Franco stopped laughing and looked over at Cara as he spoke.

  • Cara gave a slight roll of her eyes and crossed her arms. She refused to make eye contact with Franco, and looked to Gillian. “An’ anythin’ fer ye?”

  •
So sassy XD.
Gillian looked back over at Cara as Dublin’s laughter died off. He looked exasperated at his companions’ behavior. “I’ll just take water and a steak with some mashed potatoes.”

  •
Haha, she can have a low tolerance certain things. She’s also kinda stressed about Skye. :P
“Aye, I’ll have ‘em right away.” She nods and quickly and leaves to give the cook their orders. It is not too long of a wait before she returns, holding everything in her arms and hands with practiced balance and precision. She gives Franco a plate with a sizable piece of stag complimented with a side of cut fruit and a slice of bread. Gillian received his steak and mashed potatoes, Dublin his own mashed potatoes, and everyone their drinks.
Fair enough :P
Franco wasted no time digging in, tearing into the stag like he hadn’t eaten in years. Dublin also began eating his mashed potatoes like there was no tomorrow. Gillian calmly ate his steak, but he was still clearly irritated at his allies. The fourth man took a single sip of his water and slowly put it down wordlessly. Gillian hesitated slightly as the fourth man took a sip. “What’s the matter Sumich? Don’t like the water?” Sumich looked over at Gillian. “It’s better than what’s in my canteen.” Gillian rolled his eyes. “You haven’t washed that thing in WEEKS.” Sumich took another sip wordlessly. Dublin looked over at Cara and spoke in-between bites. “Say, you wouldn’t happen to know a Sitri, would you? He said he came by here a few months ago or something.”

  • Cara was just about to leave, but Dublin’s question made her freeze in her place. She studied the man for a moment, and the hard expression on her face almost seemed to soften. The corner of her brow twitched curiously. “Aye, I do. Did he send ye this way?”

Sumich turned his head back to look at Cara as she spoke. His blue eyes appeared to be dead, as if he was looking through her into her soul. His pale cheeks looked shrunken slightly into his mouth. He was almost more creepy looking than Sitri with his mask on. Dublin laughed and then said, “Yeah he did. Mentioned something about a sweet girl working at this inn. Didn’t really pay much attention to the story, it got boring after a while.” Dublin yawned and sipped on his apple juice. “All I know is that for a Grade A weirdo, he sure can pay us well.”

  • Cara was caught off guard at Sumich’s face, and to avoid accidentally staring she was quick to turn to Dublin as he spoke. She paused and crossed her arms, a little uncertainly. “A sweet lass? There are plenty o’ sweet lasses here who visit the inn. He must have run into one o’ ‘em an’ mistook her fer a barmaid.” She cleared her throat dismissively and then gave a suppressed smile at the irony in calling Sitri the ‘weirdo’. “An’ he’s payin’ ye ta find this... ‘Carter’, is he? Wha’ fer?” Remembering that Sitri seemed to be desperate to find this person when she last saw him, she hopes to take advantage of the moment and find some answers. However, her tone only bears innocent curiosity.

More for being alive than dead, imagine that.” Dublin took one last swing of his apple juice before putting it down. His voice was slightly muffled from the cup. “He also mentioned something about an encounter in the forest with some irrelevant people. Some dude that could control some rock things with his fists? Or maybe it was metal. I dunno, I only half paid attention during that story since it involved fighting. I swear that guy never stops talking about stuff.” Gillian kicked Dublin from underneath the table, hard. Dublin cried out in surprise. “Ow!!! What was that for?” “Maybe it’s time you shut up. “ Gillian sighed. “The one time I get promoted and HQ sends me out with a bunch of knuckleheads that can’t keep their mouths closed.... Except for you of course Sumich.” Although Cara couldn’t see Sumich’s face, it was obvious he was giving Gillian the death glare as he spoke. It faded as he exempted Sumich from his insult.

  • At the mention of someone with the ability to control something with their fists, Cara once again paused, but the group passed over the subject too quickly for her to make any comment. She pushed a stray wisp of her auburn hair behind her ear and sighed, almost feeling sorry for Gillian, though she wasn’t sure what to think of their mission. “Ye certainly are a lively lot, aren’t ye?” Her gaze fell on the table Sitri had chosen when he had stayed at the inn as she continued. “Well, I’ll tell ye the same ting I told Sitri. I know just about every face in this town, none are paired with the name ‘Carter’. He sounds like quite the elusive fellow, if Sitri is hiring bounty hunters ta find him.”

“Bounty hunters?” Franco sounded half-way insulted. “Lil lady, we are PMC’s!” “Franco, shut. Up.” Gillian had a frustrated tone. Dublin responded before either of the others could get into a fight. “Are you SURE you haven’t met a Carter? Sitri was certain that he was in the area. Last seen traveling with two girls? One had some sort of scar on her face or something.”

  • “No. I’ve never met anyone by tha’ name.” Her answer was truthful, but at the description of one of the girls, despite it being rather vague, she very briefly hesitated. “An’ me name’s Cara,” she corrected Franco, a little tartly as she glanced at him.

  • “Whatever you say, lil lady” Franco laughed as she looked at him. Gillian finished his steak and placed the silverware down gently. “Thank you for the meal Cara, and for entertaining my knucklehead of a troupe’s questions. Now, as for the room-“ As he spoke, three more people entered the inn. Dressed in white suits black vests, they calmly approached the bar, ignoring the other patrons. One was a very tale thin man, another a shorter female with long blond pony tails. The final one was a normally sized man who carried twin pistols slung across his chest with holsters. As they entered, Dublin scowled. “The Ingus Corp? What the hell are THEY doing here?” At the name, Gillian swiveled around time look at them, scowling as well. “Damn those uptight shits, they’re probably after the same score as us!”

  • Cara glared at Franco, when she heard the door open and instinctively turned her gaze. At hearing the two men’s disgust towards the group, she rolled her eyes. “Good heavens, o’ course this happens tonight o’ all nights. I take it they’re friend o’ yers,” she stated sarcastically.

“Friends? As if...” Franco scoffed in disgust at Cara’s comment. As the men continued to stare at the newcomers, the trio sat down at a table and began looking around for a waiter or waitress. Eventually, the girl with pony tails made eye contact with Cara and smiled at her. The group either didn’t notice the mercenaries staring at them or didn’t care. • Cara ignored Franco’s response, and started to move toward the white-clad ones. “We’ll discuss yer rooms when I return” she said, glancing back. She made over to the group and smiled politely to welcome them, though her posture still displayed some very slight irritation. “Good evenin’, an’ welcome ta the Silver Stag. Wha’ can I do fer ye?”
No worries! :)
