As an added bit of detail, I joined in mid round after they had already won the first round. According to the scoreboard my teammates at some point were able to get motes but the whole second round no enemies spawned.

Wouldn't be surprised if there's more cheating on console. Saw a flying, immune player in Gambit.

There is no cheating involved. What you saw was a bug where connectivity was broken in a weird way, so that you could not see any of the non-static items (enemies, other players, etc.), and can't interact with anything (like heavy ammo crates). I've been dropped into both Gambit and Crucible this way. It's weird to hear Shaxx say that the enemy just captured Zone B, when I'm standing on it, and nobody else is there.
