If you have your twitch account linked to your Bungie profile, then you need to unlink it. That’s the main cause for tapir errors currently.

Is this still an issue i tried logging in on my ps4 but tapir also thought it might be because i changed my gamertag....is that a thing?

Yes, tapir is still caused by having your twitch account linked on your Bungie profile. It is not likely caused by changing your name.
