I still think introducing pinnacle weapons the way that they did was a mistake. They've been a major reason why the Crucible is seriously unbalanced. Should've been exotics so you wouldn't have to get stuck against some really ridiculous loadouts all the time. That might've also saved them from sunsetting if that were the case.
And Felwinter's Lie may as well be a pinnacle too with its unique intrinsic perk. Call it a "ritual weapon" or whatever you want, but to me, that perk makes it the same thing and puts it at an advantage over many other shotguns. They didn't really move on from pinnacles the way everyone thought.

Cannot agree there. Haven't been "sniped" by Astral the way a Felwinter's can.

Yes it does. Rifled Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Quickdraw, Opening Shot, Range MW. Sounds like a ton of range, doesn't it?

That's why when you compare Astral Horizon and/or Rifled Barrel to "Full Choke+, the shotgun," Felwinter's becomes a much more desirable pick due to consistency. For regular shotguns, to me, it sits at the top of the food chain. If your other shotguns don't have Full Choke on them, Felwinter's has an advantage. That also destroys loot incentive a bit if you own Felwinter's.

Ill be honest. I find felwinter's to be pretty inconsistent. My Mindbender's just feels better.

Well in that comparison, Mindbender's has 6 more points of aim-assist. It is one of the highest aim-assist shotguns in the game. If aim-assist affects shotguns in any way similar to other weapons, that might affect its consistency. What does your Mindbender's have on it?

Then it might be possible aim-assist is at play there. Then again, testing and comparing shotgun performance is pretty hard even in controlled instances. All I know is that Felwinter's is one of the most common shotguns in PvP right now and Mindbender's used to be where it's at. Astral Horizon is apparently somewhat popular, but it's still not as popular as those two according to DestinyTracker.

Besides the fact it has Vorpal Weapon, maybe. But it is definitely a top-tier pick that is going to be seen a lot in the Crucible for a long time.
