Forsaken kind of pulled a Game of thrones move killing off a main character to get people interested again in a dying game and they put bows and extra supers and new locations in as well as seasons to just overhaul it and shadowkeep brought the season pass in but not much else beyond light is just throwing out all of the clutter and getting ready for a next gen upgrade so I don't think we will see much in the way of new weapons or armor or weapon types till year 5 when they have the game the way they want it to be for next gen

The ship has sailed on D2 on any platform. They dont have the talent nor resources to do anything meaningful in the game anymore.

If this is true then there is no way the player base will survive that amount of disappointment.
