Seeing how this is the biggest IB ever, I'd say you're objectively WRONG

Lol. Give it some time. The numbers will plummet drastically. I played this first one to get the two new weapons but will not play in anymore the rest of the season and I’m pretty sure there are many, like me that will not play anymore. But time will tell.

The large player base had many factors.. Most of which had nothing to do with CBMM. 2 new weapons, with farmable grolls who's archetype is in demand, 1st IB of the season, new 60+ stat armor farms with the 1360 light cap, and the 4 pinnacle bounties. Decent weapon farms alone will increase the player base a sizeable amount. I feel like there wouldn't be as many issues with matchmaking if team balancing was better.

Regardless of skill. What you are advocating for is a special kiddie pool where people in the fat end of the bell curve get rewarded with fast matches and good connection, while those at the pointy end get neither because they took the time and effort to improve. Sorry. But sbmm is gone now. Tough luck
Then can you kindly explain why sketchy hit regs, delayed kills and shots, being connected to players from other continents, and Guardians teleporting are still a thing, if not more frequent since the reintroduction to CBMM? Myself for example I'm from East Coast North America, so that puts me in one of the most populated player pools outside of China, yet I'm being connected to people from Asia every 2-3 matches.

CBMM cant fix all your ills. But its a vast improvement
-
Explain improvement when there has been even more "CBMM is worse than SBMM" threads in the course of a month than there's been "remove SBMM" threads in half a year. Yes, it's an absolute improvement..... at showing what the problems are.

Because it doesn’t match to the best connection speeds, it just matches you up quickly, aka connects you to other people as fast as possible to reduce queue times. That’s the C in CBMM, nothing to do with each other’s Ping rate or internet. Hence why I get people from other continents and countries still. As well as lag, poor hit registrations, and rubber banding.
-
Seems like an extremely poor design for Peer to Peer, no?
-
100% so. From my experience, games that still use peer to peer have a ping rate option in so you can choose your allowable ping range you connect to. And if someone drops out of that range they get removed from the match.
-
Reminds me of the old days of choosing which Peer to Peer player-hosted server you'd connect to in the old FPS games like Unreal Tournament or Quake.

You should learn to read the click bait before you spread it around.

Using IB which supplies pinnacles and some of the best weapons for PvE and PvP where they now have to be re-farmed to last through the next year is the dumbest argument any simpleton can use to defend CBMM. You're so stupid I felt my IQ drop reading your post.
Using IB which supplies pinnacles
And always has get under sbmm the numbers were always low...
and some of the best weapons for PvE and PvP
No they dont, the only good guns off banner are the auto and grenade launcher for pve
where they now have to be re-farmed to last through the next year
Except players would wait if that were the reason and grind next season so it lasts the full Y4.
is the dumbest argument any simpleton can use to defend CBMM. You're so stupid I felt my IQ drop reading your post.
You're grasping at straws and trying to make any possible argument to avoid facing the fact that cbmm increased our numbers massively but in the end you're only fooling yourself
-
1st IB of the season always pulls higher numbers than the remainder of the season, then there were 2 new weapons introduced that are decent with farmable grolls, there's also the new 60+ armor farms with the new 1360 light cap, and on top of that there are the 4 usual pinnacle bounties. Those factors contributed to the player base increase, more so than cbmm. Not saying it hasn't helped since it's still a new change and players want to get a feel for it, but from what I'm seeing just as many people have issues as the ones that don't.... Just like before. Team balancing is most likely what's causing the problems. Bungie should have adjusted that along with changing to CBMM to account for the larger skill variance. They basically moved the classic mix playlist so many had issues with to the entire playlist. I'm personally having more issues now with connection and lag then ever
-
We always have pinnacle guns and we've had several great banner guns like bite of the fox, swarm of the raven, orwengs maul, claws of the wolf and we've never had the explosion of players we did. I also dont accept tons of people are grinding now for things when a huge expansion is dropping in a few months theyll be grinding then. Could the reasons you listed have been what made tons of players get on? Sure. But imo it makes sense that cbmm was the bigger draw
-
Yes but those are not new weapons. The bigger draw has always been something players have never owned instead of another reissued gun they already own, with nothing new about it besides the new light cap.
-
Forward path and fools remedy are both old banner guns that were reissued
-
They now have random rolls. I can't remember the last time it was even available.... before forsaken at least.
