Maybe for like the bottom 500 players in the world because crucible just saw a massive spike in pvp this past week. Don’t you think maybe its possibly just you not enjoying the game? Just because a few of you don’t enjoy it doesn’t mean everyone else hates it too. Its clear cbmm is far better and its way more fun to face players of different levels, some are even improving because of it. Terrible players cant improve by playing against other terrible players, a terrible player however can learn so much in just a few games simply watching better players like the weapons they use, the way they play the game, the way they position themselves etc. anyone refusing to accept that fact is just a salty and delusional player that hates better players.

  • Watching better players how? In the 1.2s it takes them to die? Come on, man. I've been teaching people extremely difficult skills for years, and that comment just isn't true of any complex skill set. (I don't teach gaming skill sets, before someone tries to "call me out" for that.)

Alright, you want to improve? Go search for “ifrostbolt”, I learned a lot from simply watching how he plays. The guy is insanely good at pvp and he explains his train of thought as he plays so players can learn from him. There is more to destiny than shooting your weapon, most of it comes from positioning which is something 90% of the destiny community cant figure out, so just watch this youtuber and actually learn how he plays, not how he shoots.

  • So the best way to enjoy playing a video game is watching someone else?

  • Lol I don’t need to search for him; I know who he is. What is he, #3 right now all-time kills? Thing is, I’m in the top 30%, and to be honest, because of the way I play, probably in the top 20%. I’m not great on console, I know that. The acceleration on an Xbox controller, combined with the BS auto-aim assist gets me killed way too often. I have not figured out how to adjust for that. But, a long time ago, I did play on PC (I’m talking before Destiny). I was sweaty. I know how to approach a map. I know what to do and when to do it. I just don’t enjoy playing that way anymore. It isn’t fun for me, and I personally don’t care what my ranking or ELO is. To make this post “about me” is entirely missing the point of what I wrote and why I wrote it.

  • There is another word for statistical anomalies, and that word is BULLSHlT! What is more likely, that people suddenly can’t play enough IB? Or that scumbag Bungle found yet another way to lie to the player base. LOL

  • Cross-Play?

  • That's a good reason for them not to switch it back. They will get called "scumbag Bungle" by people who hate PvP no matter what they do. Might as well trying to appeal to people who actually like PvP games for once and see how it goes.

  • I like pvp. In fact Iron Banner in the past was among my favorite parts of Destiny. In the past it was the pvp mode that played the most like the rest of the game. What Bungie did when they switched to what they are claiming is CBMM has screwed the game up for me on xbox. Maybe its better on other platforms, I can’t comment on that. My connection was way better on SBMM. I don’t know what the match making is doing now, but it is broken.

  • I will say that I've seen quite a few people say the connections are worse and quite a few say they are better. Definitely seems like Xbox has had more problems than PS4 lately though. It has definitely been better for me connection and quality-wise and that's the main reason I like it so much. I was on the losing team in almost every IB match I played and I would take that any day over the way it used to work where only 3 people in each lobby seemed to have shot registration.

  • Maybe Xbox is the problem, then? It's definitely worse. (I do play on Xbox.)

  • I think slightly less people play on Xbox so that could be part of the problem. And now if you are playing on the weeked during Trials, or especially during Trials and IB, in any other playlist there's a good chance there's going to be some lag. Even though the shot registration in Comp is always silly, you don't really people lagging around. But I played over this weekend like an idiot and there were definitely players lagging. (Mostly Titans btw, Its always the Titans not acting right). I think the addition of a new playlist just dropped the player numbers in other playlists so it can get kind of laggy. Now imagine that on top of having to do whatever it is that SBMM does and the fact that xbox has usually has slightly less players than PS4. I honestly think that when they looked at the data it just got to a point where they decided its better to go with CBMM.

  • Could be. And I'm all good with blaming Titans.. lol But the bottom players don't really experience matchmaking delays, so that's really a "top" problem. And I think they'd all be good with slightly longer load times and not getting stomped every match.

  • That might be true. The loading times were never a problem for me personally it was the crap shot registration and movement and playing people with high stats that were basically indestructible for some odd reason like power levels were enabled. If they could do it I wouldn't mind but I personally just can't go back to how bad it was after they introduced Trials. I could not believe the difference after they made the switch and it made it feel like SBMM was on a previous console generation.
