If you choose not to keep armor in your vault once it can no longer be infused to a higher Power, you'll be able to recover partial materials by dismantling the gear.

That's not the point, i know it. But what is the meaning of upgrading something when you know it is going to trash? Answer: NOT UPGRADING ANYMORE WITH MATERIALS ONLY SWITCHING OUT.

Oh what's that? I get mats back when I dismantle the old battleworn gear? Awesome!

  • Yup, it demotivates to masterwork gear now.. Especially with the stingy economy of materials for masterwork..

  • Stingy Economy? How is it stingy? It takes maybe 10 minutes for a master nightfall, get a shard every two runs. It’s so quick and easy.

  • The economy being directed into 1 single activity is the sole reason it's stingy. You get some here and there in some other ways, but let's not kid ourselves,, nobody wants to run 1 activity that is effective over and over for basic materials used for universal enhancement of our gear. I have no hate tho, with armor being sunset I give them a chance to show us the players how they are going to "value our time invesment" this next expansion.

  • Also, a flawless run of ToO takes 30 minutes with a good team and has you drowning in upgrade mats this season. I do agree that we need more sources though.

  • You do realize that 7 other teams need to lose for 1 team to win right? That is a huge ratio of people not getting those materials. I get that you just mention it as a way to get materials, but there is more to it. Just like people say yeah you can buy materials from banshee, but it takes 100 cores to masterwork 1 set that way.. A 100..

  • But the thing is, the teams that are winning are the ones that are actually hardcore enough to be masterworking their armor every season.

That is not true. People who want to engage in high end activities or even in just blast away want to make builds and enhance their abilities as much as they can. The way it's set up now won't give them the freedom to do it that much, when sunsetting activates that little motivation they have now will be washed away.
