There are playlists that have SBMM and some that have CBMM.
Just play the ones that you want if it means so much.

Until quests and bounties...

You don’t have to do every quest and bounty. I only do the things I enjoy. Makes the game more fun.

Until you need that weapon/armor/mod for an activity... ;)

You don't need anything in a video game. You get the same loot from elimination, rumble and comp (SBMM playlists) than you do in Control and Classic Mix (CBMM playlists). You guys are just looking for something to cry about when there is ways around it.

Really? Show me the best way to get pinnacle gear when you don’t play with people who can complete activities like raids or dungeons. IB perhaps? The problem is, this isn’t a pure FPS where you can avoid certain activities without negative side effects. Bungie works very hard to create an environment where you kinda do have to do everything. Take Mountaintop for example, which thank god is finally sun setting. People get it in PvP, but then take it into PvE. And then Bungie has to design levels around these types of weapons, gear, and mods. Which locks some players out of those activities permanently. So, players who want to try a dungeon but may not quite have the skill level go seeking these things that can make it easier for them to complete. But they’re not good enough to get the required kills/stats quickly In the crucible, so some will grind for a year or more to get that thing, pissed off the whole time that they have to do it. It’s those types of experiences that become unavoidable, and ruin the game for a lot of players. But you never hear from them, because they don’t give feedback; they just quit.

You’re taking this beyond SBMM and CBMM. I honestly don’t know what you’re on about but you can get your pinnacle reward from playing CBMM playlists and SBMM playlists. I wouldn’t worry about the pinnacle grind in the slightest. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

There are two directions here. One is my original point, that eliminating any type of skills-based matching will reduce the number of players in the crucible. I just assumed you agreed with that when you said “play something else”. The second is that this isn’t a pure PvP game, and that Bungie actively does things to force players into specific activity types, sometimes with specific weapons involved, too. That is the current thread of conversation.

You’re putting words in my mouth. I never said that. Try to quote my comments. Wait are we still talking about CBMM and SBMM? You can play both and get the same reward.
