The only problem with every theory/complaint I hear on here is this assumption casuals/below average are the majority. The actual majority, average players, will notice little to no difference on average depending on which end of the average skill range they belong to and will stick around just as they always have. Above average players will also stick around and more than likely they will invest more hours than usual.
The only people cbmm will push away will be the low-skill or low time investment players that largely only go into crucible for pinnacles or quest requirements. So in short they didn't fix crucible (stacks are still a very real issue), but they sure did improve it for the actual majority that collectively clocks the most hours in the mode. Population numbers have been shooting up as of late confirming this as well, but people on here will still deny that because it contradicts their opinion.

Except the "bottom" is a relative term. And if those low-skill players leave, there will be a new bottom. And if those low-skill players leave, there will be a new bottom. And if those... see where I'm going with this?

Feel free to leave and test out that theory and let me know how that goes. I'm sure the entire "bottom" will follow you lmao. The people currently in the middle aren't going to leave even if the entire "bottom" would leave (which let's be honest that's never going to happen in this game). As much as people desperately want to believe this theory, players from each bracket will always remain just in lower numbers. Players have been getting stomped in every shooter since the genre's inception, but low-tier players always remain. The reason why? Because they desperately want to improve and/or are having fun even though they get stomped occasionally. At the end of the day not everyone cares about doing well in a video game.
...players from each bracket will always remain just in lower numbers.
Yes, this has been my position the entire time. It's the reason for the thread. Were you confused? ;)
At the end of the day not everyone cares about doing well in a video game.
I agree that having fun is more important. Explain to me what is fun about constantly getting stomped?
Everyone who's already pissed off at the Crucible will stop playing, leaving only the sweaty top ranked players.
You seem to think only the current top bracket will remain, so no you seem to be. Also, your last three play sessions in IB you had a higher W/L ratio than you have overall in IB. Tell me again how you are getting "stomped every game". In fact, most of your games you had a K/D above 1.0 which isn't you being stomped. You did recently get stomped by what appears to be a stack (with a 98% chance of them winning), but those are exceptions to both SBMM and CBMM. Additionally they can be avoided simply by watching the roster when 12/12 players are found prior to the match beginning. Every other match I checked out had either your team or the opposing team with a 50-70% chance of winning with very similar elo's, which is relatively evenly matched.

You may have missed the multiple, multiple places where I’ve said this isn’t about me; it’s about the platform. Might want to go up and reread that and then come back. 😉
How many people enjoy turning a corner and dying immediately 10 times in a row? 20 times? Every 15 seconds for an entire crucible match?
Care to reference where you are drawing this example from then? Sure sounds like a personal experience to me even though you'll just deny it. Anyways this is all the time I'll waste on this thread now that you're defaulting to quick gotcha's to dismiss any points I bring up. See ya in crucible.
