First cut out the lore, who cares. Then, what are you talkin about? Theyre probably confused because youre telling them what to do and what to get to do things with YOU. Youre supposed to be helping them with what they discover, that they want. Leave em alone, because unless youre forgetting the game, it literally tells you what to do next, which is the story. But here you come telling them they need xeno or raids will suck. If theyre getting confused because theres too much to do then ill gladly switch places with them.

Nnno? This isnt fantasia dude, no one caring about the magic of it all, doesn't make the story suck. The story sucks, so i dont care. Game of thrones was good because of the nudity twists and blood shed, not because i learned about dragons.

I was scrolling through these comments hoping I’d find at least one like this. Legit brand new player here (played for the first time on July 3rd). Not overwhelmed at all. The only confusing part for me has been determining what counts toward some of the bounties (for example, not 100% sure how to identify a Taken and therefore find it a little challenging to kill a certain amount of them. Some dude who I was matched with for a strike ended up spending an hour or so with me at Tower pointing out some useful things (for example, the vault!!). Seems like almost everyone who posts on this forum is super jaded. I find the game pretty great thus far, though!

Itll tell you in the summary of things what youre fighting. "Help rasputin defeat the taken" specific enemy are in specific places.

The taken are ghost like you will see them they’re black white, it will say taken above their heads, they’re on almost every planet, goof luck and enjoy the game

Friend me if you want help but im not that guy that tells you what to pursue. I basically do the opposite of what everyone says you should do. Hence why i have everything in the game.

I watched Sweatcicle’s stream where he started a new character on an alt, and he had ~21 QUEST STEPS from literally every vendor in the game. That’s ridiculous. This game is a complete mess to new players.

What? There all from different quests, you do one at a time its not rocket science? Its not like you open the game and sht just pops up with no explanation. I swear this community never just accepts being wrong. "He had 21 quest steps from literally every vendor" ok? You make it seem like you need a video game interpreter, its a looter video game, unless you have dementia i think youll figure out how quests work.

It’s not that the quests are difficult or confusing, it’s just that it’s so overwhelming to new players that it makes them not really want to bother with doing 20 different quest steps, not knowing which ones are worth it and which ones aren’t.

I started week 3 of Season of Dawn, and there was pretty much zero guidance about anything in the current story. I had markers for [b]everyone[/b] wanting to talk to me, and didn't even know about the artifact until I read it somewhere, and even then still didn't have a clear path to the quest that gives it to you. Basically, after you get through the intro mission, you are sent to the tower and told to talk to everybody. Then, I hit all these planets and had [b]more[/b] quests dropped on me...some were just local story, and some were exotic quests. Plus, every planet had a bunch of "adventures" I could do, but no logical order to do them in. Then, I found out about the "legacy" content (Red War, etc.), which I probably should have done first if I wanted to follow the story. Meanwhile, since Shadowkeep was the current year's "story", I had that whole quest line screaming at me to get it done. The worst part about all if this is that during the Dawning event, I could barely pick up any bounties, because all the quests (and Dawning added either 2 or 3) took up 55 of my 63 total slots.

I haven’t once told them what they should do, all I’ve said is I’ll play through the game with them and help how I can to get them caught up, I’ve just done what I could to explain what is going on but other than that I’ve only joined their fireteams and let them decide what to do. And that by itself has been a nightmare to them, because they get overwhelmed with the 100+ quests in their inventory, trying to figure out how do quests or where to go next etc, one friend just started playing yesterday, and it just ended up with us going around Nessus and the tribute hall. They feel like they don’t have any real sense of direction in the game, they want a clear goal to chase after but don’t know where to start and they’re frustrated with it.

So tell them what to do first. What you're doing is like going to a pool and jumping into the deep end with them and then treading water while you watch them drown. I'm sure they see your gear... ask them what they'd like to have and show them how to start the path to get it. Prune the rest of the shit out of their quest log. Teach them how the Director works. Make sure they understand Power level and infusion. Everything else will fall into place in its own time. Most important... show them how to have fun and share what you find cool about the game. It's the kind of thing friends do.

Then y r u in this forum? Also NO I have a friend who couldn’t even try to do it himself on his first day. And he’s a pretty good gamer, so, yes peeps need help and this is a hard game to solo
