Speak for yourself. I and a lot of my friends and clan mates are casual, average players and love the change to matchmaking.
I suppose if you’re like bottom 20% it might be rough but if you just put in a little time to even become average (which anyone can do if they just play and learn smart positioning) then you should have a positive experience if you like to play pvp.

I would dispute your description. You're almost the classic definition of a pvp main. Nothing wrong with that, but certainly not an average casual player.
-
Definitely casual, just look at my characters and their light lol. I think I’m average and I’m definitely below average in terms of trials players, but maybe my judgement is scewed by who I play in trials and high level comp.
-
I think there are enough comments calling you out, so no need to go there. I want to follow through on the logic. Let's say you're right about the bottom 20%. Here's what I said: "So, here's what's going to happen. Everyone who's already pissed off at the Crucible will stop playing, leaving only the sweaty top ranked players. Game over, Crucible." If it's just the bottom 20%, they leave. Now the top 80% remain. Then there's a new bottom 20%. They leave. Now a smaller top 80% remains. Do you see where that goes long-term? People want a game they can enjoy, not a game where they get stomped every match. Or every match-up, for the truly bottom players. I appreciate you agreeing with me on that.
-
How about the bottom 20% just grow up and realize that they can work to improve and become slightly better and get to a point where they can enjoy crucible? I mean that’s what the rest of us have done in every fps game ever...
-
I think you're asking for something very unrealistic. And at what point, when those people start giving up, do you lose all the things you say you enjoy, up to an including the Crucible itself?
-
Unrealistic for today’s entitled gamers maybe... which is ultimately very sad because it should be expected that you struggle at something until you get better at it. That’s life.
-
Life isn’t a video game, and video games aren’t life. People flock to entertainment venues for enjoyment, not to mimic the daily struggles of their own lives. If anything, they often seek to escape the troubles of life. So, yeah, no. It’ll never be realistic for any sufficiently large population of consumers seeking entertainment. That’s just basic psychology.
-
But it’s like that with any hobby! Sports you’ll suck and get your shit kicked in by your friends til you practice and improve, if you start fly fishing you’ll be terrible and not catch many (if any) fish for at least the first couple weeks/months until you learn, and heck even playing cards or something you’re gonna be bad and lose until you learn how to play better. For whatever reason today’s fps gamers are entitled and think they should instantly be able to compete in a game they suck at... it’s not like that with any other “fun” hobbies.
-
I actually like this analogy; it perfectly illustrates my point. Let me know the next time you partake in a hobby with the professionals of that particular craft. I don’t know too many backyard football players who get thrown into the NFL and are expected to be able to compete.

Edited by goatbilly07: 7/6/2020 9:31:55 PMYou either always play on stacks or you are far from average. Your comments therefore are meaningless. Also looked up your games you dont get stomped. Quit lying.
-
I never play stacks and still think I’m average. And I said stomped in trials and high level comp now quickplay learn to read.
-
Never mentioned anything about qp. I did read.
-
You’re a potato
-
I am going to call you out again. Not only do you lie about being average and getting stomped in high level activities. You lied about playing casually. Checked you game history. You play hours of crucible everyday. Its fine to disagree with someone. But to blatantly lie to make a point is flat out wrong.
-
Dude I have one character at like 1015, I’m a casual😂
-
Edited by goatbilly07: 7/6/2020 8:42:55 PMI looked your stats and games up in comp and trials. Quit lying everyone can check it
-
I’m a negativr kd in trials I suck 😂
-
Sorry i think i got wrong person my apologies if i did
I and a lot of my friends and clan mates are casual, average players
I can't say anything about your clan mates, but the fact that you are top 4.5% means you are nowhere near "average". Since you aren't truthful about that, why should we believe anything else you say?
-
Edited by Riv3rMon5ters: 7/6/2020 7:37:30 PMI dont know how that is lol I get absolutely stomped in trials and high level comp... I dont even play the game that much. Where does it say I’m top 4.5%? Edit: nvmnd I see the hyperlink, very interesting cause like I said I’m a very casual player and do not do well in trials or comp.
