Already being done. Too late. And sunsetting isn't being done because the game is getting too big. It's being done for balance purposes AND to further push the fomo in D2. You either need to not care about the fomo and just play for fun, or care about it enough to try and keep up.....or....move on. Not that difficult to pick one considering the facts.
P.S also consider the game breaking bug that you'll definitely encounter each and every season. There won't be a single season that goes live flawlessly because they don't allow themselves the proper amount of time to fix new or old bugs.
Edit: Never have nor do I agree with sunsetting. The more I play the stupider it sounds to me. Especially with the infusion/progression system, masterworking, RNG, and basically them bringing back stuff we have. All I'm saying is I don't see them switching gears. The wheels are already turning. And someone at bungie has pride that overshadows the bad idea they have.

that is a -blam!-ing lie . They made it real clear as to why .
-
Yeah, I know. They'll never get balance right. So yeah it's all a lie.

Play for fun🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Destiny2 😂😂😂
-
....why else are you playing it and constantly putting money into it....if not for fun? 😂

Because I payed for these Bull$hit seasonal crap when Shadowkeep dropped. Skipped the season of Worthless. Getting what I needed from This season and Im done. Beyond light can kick rocks. Probably be back during the Witch queen DLC.

But they are not taking the guns out of the game, if you have it you can keep it in the vault. You just can't increase the power past the limit so I'm not sure how that stops the game from getting bigger if the data for the guns is still there.

Sorry was trying to reply to the original post not your comment

Add in that I have certain weapons that I'm using right now that cap at 1060 and I am also getting reissues of those same weapons that cap at 1360. Seems like that also adds data for them.

I don't buy into the balancing crap for an instant. I definitely believe the biggest reason they are doing the weapon and armor sunsetting is purely for the fomo.

I'm not saying I agree, it's bullshit. But let bungie tell it? That's why they are doing it. and the more I think about it the more it makes absolutely no sense. No I don't agree with sunsetting, never have. But it's already being done.

Edited by Manslave2Eris: 6/20/2020 10:28:57 PMYeah, it really doesn't make a lot of sense. I was perfectly fine with the weapon side of it up until I actually saw the intended results happening in-game. When I picked up a rather nice (for me) Steel Sybil with a 1360 cap that was an exact duplicate of the lower capped Sybil I already had masterworked and had quite a few kills on? It bothered me a little. When I started getting Gnawing Hungers with combos of perks that included the ones on my favorite GH (letting me know a new one actually could be found with the same roll) that already has 15k kills on it? That one got under my skin a little deeper. :) That doesn't mean I'm going to grind for the same roll though. I might trash talk the balancing side of things but being honest about it, yeah, I actually can see it. 😉 Recluse is a nice little beast and I will have to find something I enjoy as much. I can see that with other weapons as well. It just doesn't sit well with me that they are already reissuing weapons with a higher cap that I have a lot of kills with. It's simply intended to increase the hours. The sad part about it is that I will not mess with grinding those 'fun' rolls and will no longer bother with masterworking things unless it is an absolutely exceptional drop. In turn, that just means that I won't feel a desire to dig up the items required to do so. I'll still enjoy the game, it just all means my play time might be less and I won't grind as much as I'm used to.

Yes because the fomo will get Players to keep playing because they want to keep up. Kinda scummy but it is a free to play game at is core now so nothing will change lol
