Today is June 19th, a day of growing importance in the United States. It is recognized here as Juneteenth, or Freedom Day. On this date, in 1865, slaves in Texas celebrated as they were told for the first time that they were free, and slavery was no longer permitted. We at Bungie would like to take this opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth with you, no matter where you are around the world.
During an event earlier this month, we spent 8 minutes and 46 seconds in silence to honor the death of George Floyd, and promised that we would commit more time, energy, and money towards the fight against systemic racism. We invite you to join us in that battle by showing your support and making your voices heard.
Today we’re announcing the Be Heard Collectible Pin & Emblem. All profits from the sales of the Be Heard Collectible Pin & Emblem will benefit the Equal Justice Initiative (eji.org). We know that Guardians in Destiny fight for humanity and hope. And while the real challenges that Black people face are not as easily vanquished as the enemies in our game, we look forward to seeing Guardians come together in this fight as well. As we said before, we are committed to standing up for our Black community; including our developers, fans, and neighbors. Together, we intend to replace injustice with equality wherever we see it. So eyes up Guardians, there's work to do.

Black Lives Matter movement is just the black version of the -blam!-.
-
Stop forcing your political opinions on us. You have violated your own rules as well. Where’s the ninja?
-
With all due respect to everyone, Politics should be kept out of gaming.
-
The comments on this are awesome. Glad people can still see through the bull crap. Even if bungie can’t.
-
A thought, how about keeping highly charged politics out of the tool many of us use to escape from said politics.

Rules for thee, but not for me.

Edited by SxR: 6/26/2020 7:40:34 PMNew player here. I was just into the story, starting to enjoy the game. Playing it 8h day for a week when political propaganda message popped right into my face. I intentionally dont follow twitter or other media. I want to be left out of this and you like to drag me into just because your world view is telling you so - so aggressive. I dont like it. I dont like it when politics is mixed into games. Why? Here is why: I am not an American citizen. You would not understand our problems in politics. I don't see things as you do. I see don't see things black and white (to be on topic) as you do. Why has your pin a menacing fist? I dont support violence of ANY kind. No violence is ever justified imho. Not for cops not for blm. This is why games are for. I play games to escape politics and real world. Sad and disappointed you really ruined my day and wanted even to preorder the expansion ... now... I on't know. Maybe I will seek a game that leaves politics out. Peace.

So where was your support for the Hong Kong protesters again?

Subtitles Fixed an issue where subtitles for Season of Arrivals Drifter dialogue could misgender players as "brother" even when using female character. Running with that logic the exotic ornament for season reward GL needs to be changed I find it very offensive and stereotypes one group of individuals in a bad light

There are 8 billion people. No lives matter.

Says the Gaming company that made Destiny - a game where ppl only feel safe behind a wall ( MAGA- Build that wall, right guys?), the same ppl basically worship a giant WHITE ball in the sky (only WHITE things can bring humanity progression and a "Golden age")... AND their most feared enemy is called The "DARKNESS" (Racist much?). Is this an accurate and Politically Correct enough summation for you BUNGIE? P.S. satire. But about as good as SJW arguments get on Twitter.
-
I think everyone can agree with the sentiment of black lives do matter, but if you aren't paying attention the BLM organization has said some very racist things towards white people. How can we be against racism if we let some slide.
-
Since we are all here FREE HONG KONG
-
FREE HONG KONG!!!!!
-
Too bad you guys never showed this kind of support for Hong Kong.....

Edited by AngryBovine1419: 7/2/2020 1:03:44 PMTake this sh-it down already, you’re just dividing us more by promoting this lie. Anyone who buys into this is racist, you’re being taken advantage of, don’t let these folks control you, you control your own DESTINY! Not BLM or Bungie, or any group like them. Want to see the end result of BLM? Look at your own CHOP zone.
-
Go to BLM website. Read their manifesto. The level of virtue signaling is astonishing. The level of ignorance is frightening. Bungie could not be more disconnected from reality.
-
Lmao... you guys are a joke of a company anymore. Hey, how’s that CHOP zone working out for you there in Seattle? That’s BLM inspired, few homicides, destruction of property, sounds about right. You ever do your research on BLM? It’s a Marxist movement, and discriminatory at its core. EDUCATE yourselves before putting this nonsense out there, you look simple.
-
Food delivery services in my city have been promoting black owned businesses over others even though they have a lower score from user reviews. If you don’t think this is racist, congratulations, you’re the problem.
-
Instead of DIVIDING us with nonsense like Black LIES Matter, we should be coming together. Bungie wants to PANDER and promote this lie, which has done nothing but cause DEATH and DESTRUCTION! Look for other causes to give your money to! Most of the money donated goes to the Democratic Party instead black communities. It’s all a lie and when the election is over, well, this will go away because they will be done using this thing, BLM. Organizations like Tunnels2Towers, donate to them if you have the money or keep your money and donate to yourself! F BLM. Look to the CHOP zone, in Bungie’s backyard, if you want to see the result of BLM.
-
Just like with their game, Bungie are too stubborn to admit they are wrong and we leave this up as proof of what out of touch fools they are.
-
Hey since we can't post about politics, you can't too either Dmg ;( But since you can break the rules so can we, it's only fair and "equal"
-
Bungie: Bans political discussion because they got involved with the Chinese Markets, knowing that their users will be against that. No political discussion, no looking bad Also Bungie: Makes this virtue signaling post, to also make themselves look better as a company. My god i’m just waiting for these idiot companies to stop being so stupid.
-
Does this mean we can loot the gear and silver for free? Also spray paint the tower, scream at other guardians, block roads, and burn stuff? That is how BLM tries to 'be heard' in my city anyway. Sorry, just trying to make light of this bad topic. But in my home we do think everyone is equal. Because of this I uninstalled the game like everyone else. Good luck with your movement and I hated this happened. I did like this game.
