Today is June 19th, a day of growing importance in the United States. It is recognized here as Juneteenth, or Freedom Day. On this date, in 1865, slaves in Texas celebrated as they were told for the first time that they were free, and slavery was no longer permitted. We at Bungie would like to take this opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth with you, no matter where you are around the world.
During an event earlier this month, we spent 8 minutes and 46 seconds in silence to honor the death of George Floyd, and promised that we would commit more time, energy, and money towards the fight against systemic racism. We invite you to join us in that battle by showing your support and making your voices heard.
Today we’re announcing the Be Heard Collectible Pin & Emblem. All profits from the sales of the Be Heard Collectible Pin & Emblem will benefit the Equal Justice Initiative (eji.org). We know that Guardians in Destiny fight for humanity and hope. And while the real challenges that Black people face are not as easily vanquished as the enemies in our game, we look forward to seeing Guardians come together in this fight as well. As we said before, we are committed to standing up for our Black community; including our developers, fans, and neighbors. Together, we intend to replace injustice with equality wherever we see it. So eyes up Guardians, there's work to do.

I'll just drop this off right here...

If people would read your see the proceeds aren't even going to Black Lives Matter. It is going to an organization called "Equal Justice Initiative". I never knew 3 little words would make people so pissed. Smh #BLM
-
Do they matter in Chicago?
-
Wow the cultists are all showing themselves up in the replies. Good job bungie in bringing them out of their troll caves and exposing them to the light. BLM!
-
No lives matter, no one is alive for any reason, nothing matters, just go eat cake.

To one side BLM is a cry for help... to another side BLM is a hate group... given the perspectives these sentiments come from it makes sense... but ultimately if someone(or a group) is crying for help I wouldn’t respond with “everyone needs help”. I think our language is limited simply because subjectivity exists... to me “racist” could mean something completely different to someone else. So when a word is used, we really have no idea how that word is being processed by the person receiving it. I think one side is trying to communicate something but the other side is listening in a different language (due to perspective). What I mean is there is the essence of the BLM movement and then there’s all the noise and vultures pecking away trying to get their piece of the “outrage” pie, which results in the message being lost... think of it as a crap ton of interference on a specific frequency. This is why supporters of BLM get so frustrated when they get “all lives matter” as a response... the entire movement is being boiled down to a semantic argument and I don’t know if there will ever be a mutual understanding. And It’s becoming harder and harder for people to discern a genuine perspective from a capitalistic one which only reinforces everyone’s positions they currently hold. Ultimately I hope we all choose love in our individual lives and live through that lens. I think that means listening to those we don’t think we agree with to “understand” their position instead of projecting what we think that person is about. Doing so might just crack open a window revealing a deeper understanding and a better approach. We don’t know what we don’t know... stay humble my friends.

I’m posting this in solidarity of those that support the BLM movement. I know there are a lot of hateful and rude posts in reaction to it, so let this post be a positive support of the movement and it’s goals... BLACK LIVES MATTER

Thank you for supporting Black Lives matter. You do you, don't listen to the people who call equality politics.
-
Imagine a movement starting from people caring about what happens to criminals. Brainwashing is dangerous in America.
-
Today is Monday, July 13th, and this is a reminder Black Lives still Matter.
-
Regardless of whether you agree with this post or not, imagine how much we could get done if everyone had civil conversations with each other instead of harassing others
-
In World of Dance Styles and Emma killed it. Ijs Maybe watching them dance together will change some of ya'll racist views.
-
Looking forward to receiving the pin in the mail, good to see a company who truly cares
-
Thx for the Pin and the Emblem I like it a lot and I love the fact the money is going to a HUMAN RIGHTS Organisation!
-
Confirmed. I’m making the right choice not joining a clan.

Speaking of BLM can Ikora be relevant anytime soon? She's been largely ignored for nearly all of this games lifecycle. You even took away her weekly Powerful drop awhile back. Heck aside from building the vex gate for the Undying Mind mini boss and helping us open the Infinite forest has she even done anything meaningful in game story wise since D1? Just about as useful as the Faction Vendors at this point.

Picked mine up I believe a week ago. Been using it ever since. I love it

Well done Bungie. 👏🏾
-
THANK YOU BUNGIE. This means a lot to me. BLACK LIVES MATTER✊🏾
-
thanks for your support Bungie ✊🏾
-
What about the ughyrs or the Tibetans or the Hong kongers in China
-
Yes. Chaz welcomes you all. Paradise on earth.
-
Let us know when you plan to relocate Bungie to the former CHOP/CHAZ. After the desolation and destruction to the area from various BLM, Antifa (etc.) groups I'm sure the neighborhood would benefit from any revitalization through businesses willing to relocate there by committing their time, energy and money to ensure their voices are heard.
-
Well bungies hq is not far from Seattle So you know they are the most virtue signaling of them all.

In the wise words of Gunnery Sgt. Hartman No lives matter you are all equally worthless
