probably bc nobody wants to solo it so everyone is running in as stacks.
For gambit and crucible I wish they'd do a better job at matching stacks vs stacks, but I don't know how much longer that would make queue times go up.
Best solution is like the one they did with comp.. solo and team playlist.. realyl was one of the best in game matchmaking mechanics they've ever implemented.

I'd be fine with matching stacks as long as they weren't from literally the opposite side of Europe with a worse internet connection than my microwave. The only reason they won is because they literally took no damage then flung themselves 20ft away and shot me while I'm still looking at the wall they were running along.
