with the season wrapping up, With out any vitriol, how can Bungie, and us as a community, help prevent another season of the worthy?

Alright, I think everyone agrees that season of the worthy was pretty unworthy as a follow up to season of the dawn, and there are a lot of problems with it that I think should be discussed. A bit of background for where I'm coming from with my thoughts, I joined back in season of the drifter, coming from Warframe, and I bought the collectors edition because I fell in love with the game. One of the things I didn't like about destiny was how many exotics and quest lines relied on playing the PVP content. This will be relevant in a moment. I want to start with the smaller things first. Let's start with how this season started off, the public event system was ... destined to fail. Public events are notorious for being cancerous to try and do because it's hard to get people together for them, and if other players have no idea what to do but kill mobs it can hinder progress, thankfully the seraph towers were pretty "Shoot bad guy" in tone but of all the seasonal events this is the one that needed matchmaking the most. Going from there the warmind-bit grind was way too much. I had 3 characters to do and it still took me 3 days of doing all their bounties to get the carbine, compared to undying where and dawn where you could get the new weapons the day of, and with some awesome perks as well, this felt horrible, especially since the seasonal mods only worked with those guns. I won't comment on the perks too much because most of the warmind mods made up for it, but needless to say, these perks were pretty ... lackluster, especially on the first gun the carbine. Going from there this season had about 2 months of content at best. I speak for myself and a group of friends, and probably many others, when I say we got the rolls we wanted for the guns then peaced out till guardian games, then again, peaced out. There was very little to actually hold out attention, Legendary lost sectors were interesting but I don't think many did them because it took far too long to get the proper light to get to do them properly, and grandmaster nightfall needs to give way better loot to be worth a damn. Finally, the bounty grinding ... just need to end. Bounties should be something to help speed up and supplement your progress not be how you progress, In opulence, the treasure maps were used to boost how often you got the imperials, not the only way you could get them. In Drifter, you needed to at most, to get all the armor, about 13 bounties total, that's assuming you wanted to get all the prime gear. In Undying, I couldn't scrap the vex offensive guns fast enough. and is Dawn before the foundation I already had several versions of the guns I wanted just from doing the sundial. This took the worst aspect of the season of the forge and turned it up to 11. Now that most of the PVE stuff is out of the way ... the elephant in the room. Trials was a disaster, no easy way to put it. The loot given out was too little, too ... lackluster, and too hard to earn to make it worth it to the majority of the player base. To go flawless meant one piece of armor. This all culminates in the fact that Trials is worse than competitive in terms of sweatiness. I don't know how trials was in D1 but I know that in D2, I and many others do not care enough to actually want to attempt this game mode, no matter how cool the gear is. In a PVE centered game, a pinnacle PVP mode can work, but you can not make it a staple of the season like Bungie just did with the amount of problems PVP in this game has. The hackers and horrible matchmaking made this game mode Dead on Arrival, and let me be clear on this point. I did NOT want this to be a failure like it was. I wanted this to perhaps be the think Crucible needed to be pushed into a much better form than what it is currently, that perhaps a pinnacle PVP mode would help point out and solve a lot of the PVP problems. And finally, the biggest problem with this is, as I've said prior, this was the selling point of the season. We spent season of the Dawn trying to get trials back, the last month we were arguing over investing and spending for maximum output, we got guns upon guns, shards on shards, levels on levels, And finally, with all our hard work, we got the Trials to reveal, something that a fair few people wanted since back in warmind, with this if trials wasn't good, the entire season would be trained with a stain it could never HOPE to wash off, and trials flopped, and it flopped hard. With all this said I've -blam!- a lot this post, but as a wise man once said, complaining about something without proposing a solution is called whining, so let me tackled these points with proposals on how to fix them. 1. Seasonal events need matchmaking, this is something we've been enjoying since forges and it's helped make those activities fun and enjoyable instead of frustrating. 2. Resource griding is alright, but there need to be adequate resource payouts, I would say a casual player should have to take at most 2.5 days, or in better terms, 6-10 hours, to get to the actual content locked behind those resouces, and that's at max. Keep in mind the weekend warriors, some people can only play Friday night through Sunday, they likely only have one character and not maxed out stats or top tier guns, who can only play for like 2-3 hours at a time, don't leave those guys out, they are the ones who spend money on eververse. 3. I can't say much on the perks but perhaps a better balance of PVE damage perks? Sure the community can't agree on what perks are the best but personally I think the Dawn weapons had the perfect set of perks for PVE, without leaving out PVP. 4. Plan more for PVE and late season content. After we have all our guns what do we do with them? I know grandmaster and legendary was supposed to be what was to tide us over but the pay out's weren't worth it for the challenge IMO. 5. I know that this is already happening but give Grandmaster and Legendary lost sectors exotic level ornaments or shaders. I know plenty of people have been drying for a taken shader/ornament set. Hell make grandmaster like what old nightfalls were, you go in and try to get that specific strikes grandmaster exclusive vanity gear? It's just a suggestion. 6. Don't make it so bounties are how you progress, or the only way to progress, they should be supplemental not staple. We hate the bounty grinding because that's what we've been doing for the past year now for bright dust, Festival of the lost, dawning, the solstice of hero's, and this season was nothing but bounties, need to progress in the bunker at first? do bounties. Want that shiny new exotic machine gun? Well, I hope you like bounties. I know I'm jaded but decouple bounties from the core experience. Use them to help weekend warriors and people late to the season. 7. Increase the rate you get Trials gear, and the amount you get, Personally, I think going flawless should just give you something like the solstice glows, something you can put on your trials armor to show off. 8. In trials, have the matchmaking keep in mind the number of times someone has gotten the 3, 5, 7, and flawless challenges. As someone who wants to get into trials, I can't because every time I try, my friends and I get stomped by a team that has gone flawless every week of the season it feels like. there needs to be a separation of these groups beyond what their ticket says. This is why the best thing that happened for Comp was the solo play, because you are as likely to be matched up with a team who knows what they are doing as the enemy, and no one was a stack. It's hard to learn how to crawl in these game modes if you are clubbed every time you try. 9. Finally, this is mostly just a warning for future seasons, be careful what you bank on for a season. There was a huge build-up to trials and that really hurt the season. I think if the bunker stuff was more fleshed out, and trials was just something that was an add on a feature not a staple, this season would have been at least in the ballpark of say opulence. To close out, I know this was a long post, but I think it's best to actually state what I had a problem with this season, but all else I wanted to give some actual suggestions on how to fix future seasons. I actually like this game and I really want to see if shine. I know this is only one person's perspective, but hopefully, it does help put into words not only what we want to be fixed, but possible ways how to fix it without "Just make guns better" or something else along those lines. I would ask that those who do read this and comment do so with a level head and a neutral tone, the team probably has gotten a lot of hate recently for this season and if we want things to turn around, we want level heads to prevail not inflamed ones.

There is nothing the community can do. Bottom line is they have people there that deem this content satisfactory before they put it out. Until they change or leave nothing will change.
