Steam Link (Hardware) does not detect controller inputs

When streaming to my TV, using the Steam Link hardware, I am able to start Destiny 2. However, controller input does not get detected. So I get to the start screen and am unable to continue. This happens with Xbox One controller (wired & wireless), PS4 (wired), Astro C40 (wired & wireless). All controllers work while in the Steam Link menus. Should this be the case for a game that has "Full Controller Support"?

The game does have controller support, the issue may be with how the hardware is interfacing with the game. The game only recognizes certain controllers and if your steam link hardware is not mirroring that information properly than it will not work. For example, PS4 controllers typically require the official ps4 pc adapter to be recognized by Destiny 2, use of 3rd party adapters does not work in most cases as the the off brand adapters just list the controller as a generic game pad vs official hardware.
