The biggest issue is that Bungie clearly didn't do what they said they did, which was to completely rework it and bring it back once it was ready. It's simply Elimination on a smaller selection of maps, with card matching and a terrible reward system. The rewards system for the game mode was broken from the outset (this was obvious from week 1), which destroys the card based matching system immediately. All we have is a more toxic version of Elimination that punishes all but the elite players who are busy farming. Anyone else who wants a reasonable shot at a visit to The Lighthouse needs to rush to get it done on a Friday once it's live, otherwise most needn't bother. They apparently told their select Streamers and Content Creators about its return months and months ago. Why didn't they get them involved and gather feedback before deeming it worthy for release...?

It’s a problem when game designers can’t see the obvious exploits, and when they are slow to respond to them. Mistakes were made, that’s not a big deal, but they do need to be active in rehabbing it in my opinion.

If they didn’t find it on their own, then it was streamers who told them what would eventually happen. They suck as content creators and do the bare minimum at this point. Anyone half way decent at their job would have had a backup plan ready to go.

  • I try to be patient with them over mistakes and half truths, but its wearing so thin after years of the same thing. They should have small scale beta tests for new game modes like Trials - real world but in a preview version of the game. Nothing is kept but you get a look into and help shape new content. A few hundred (or thousand) people so feedback is diverse enough. Other games do it, Bungie are missing a trick. They would have people falling over themselves to get a look ahead of time. Granted this wouldn't have alleviated the rise of cheaters but the mode would in theory be in better shape if that feedback was used.
