You can do it in one day thanks to SBMM. Comp isn’t an actual ranked playlist.

Yeah it basically is. I’ve actually made an effort into playing comp this season and it has been brutal to say the least. SBMM was pretty present when I first started playing, but when I got to around 3k, I am playing people who are much better than me. Even in freelance I play against people who have gone flawless, people with Lunas, not forgotten, revoked, unbroken. I have never gone flawless or reached legend. I don’t even have lunas or revoked. I’m sitting at 3k and have a hard one breaking even. I don’t consider myself good at PvP, but I’m at a point where I feel like there is just such a small player population in competitive (at least on Xbox) that SBMM is not prioritized.

That's what I'm running into now. I'm at 4k and the other team always seems stacked.

I’m a top 1-2% player and I couldn’t get to Legend before SBMM was added. Now, I go into Legend comp for casual play.

Probably because you are being matched up against players like me, who are nowhere near as good as you. I agree, SBMM exists, but in competitive I do not think it is prioritized over glory rank.

Think about it, if you are truly a top 1-2% player, it would be a lot harder for you to reach Legend this season if SBMM was top priority, because you would only be playing against the best players in the game, the top 1-2%. Every game would be a grind and you would be playing people who have similar skill so it wouldn’t be as easy for a good player to get to Legend. However, let’s say SBMM [i]isn’t[/i] top priority. Now good players can get to Legend easier this season than ever before with freelance because they can match up against players they are better than, players below the top 1-2% in terms of skill level, who are also not communicating/playing as a team hence solo queue. This makes it very doable to get to Legend in a few hours if you are best of the best. You were proving my point, you just don’t realize it.

After 4000, everyone was probably in the top 0.5% if I had to guess, and it was a nightmare. Now, with SBMM, it’s reasonably difficult for me (i.e. not too easy, not too hard) all the way from 0 - 5500. That’s what SBMM does. You’re over-thinking it. Have you not noticed all the Unbrokens now? Comp is much easier for most players.

I don’t completely disagree. But I’ve played unbrokens in comp. and I can’t get to legend for my life’s I guess I’m unskilled and unlucky. Bad combination 😖🌧

Just keep at it. You’ll be stuck at a certain place for days and then break through with a big win streak. And repeat. That’s how it works if you’re doing Freelance.

My problem is I have 10 days left to get from 4000 to 5500. Not sure if I have time to wait for streaks to work themselves out.
