some of us dont hate, i agree it sucks when you have worked hard to get that drop or those stats.
We all moaned about this in D1, we cant still be relying on the icebreaker or gjallerhorn etc. Fresh weapons bring new ways. You can still use things but it will be under powered.
To keep things fresh Bungie needs to turn it on. We are drowning here in this game. We need some gamechanger.
i agree it sucks but sometimes having new content may be a good sticking plaster for now.

Edited by Corrick II: 5/30/2020 11:31:41 PM“New content” is the problem though. Bungie hasn’t shown us any reason to believe they’re going to add anything new beyond the usual drip feed of seasonal gear. It’s all just the same guns being sold back to us in the world loot. If people could trust that Bungie was going to add the amount of new content (ACTUALLY new, not reskinned or rebalanced) that a game like this deserves, they wouldn’t be so frustrated about this plan. Sunsetting is fine, you just have to have the new gear to replace the old, and right now we don’t.
-
Which might make sense if that is what was happening. Putting a power cap on some random seasonal or world drop RANDOM rolled items is not going to promote change.
-
Or they could do what any game with pve and pvp do and implement a second sandbox for pvp it allows them to balance without affecting the other. If they did that sunsetting wouldnt be needed because they could buff and nerf as needed not go oh shit if we nerf mountaintop damage in pve it will be useless in pvp welp let's leave it alone... they are taking the lazy way out and going back on a promise they made last time sunsetting failed, but what more can you expect from that lazy ass scarab lord?
-
PvP and PvE have been separate for years, what're you on about
-
They are not separate at all or the could nerf a whole archetype and not affect pve. If you think they are separate sandboxes you need to actually go play another real mmo and get the feel for separate sandboxes.
-
As far back as 2 years ago they raised the damage of scout rifles, pulse rifles, and more across the board in PvE drastically with no change to PvP. They clearly have separate sandboxes, they just have to be extremely cautious with the changes they implement.
-
The damage increased in both there was no separate implement they need to create a full second sandbox which they do not have, go play wow and check the differences on abilities classes and everything else this is what I'm referring to, bungie does not have this implemented whatsoever amd its needed but again that requires work and luke smith isnt willing to do anything in that nature.
-
So when Bungie says "decreased <weapon> damage in PvE" or "increased crit damage for <weapon> in PvP", and people post videos showing damage comparisons between updates for both sandboxes, that's just what? Lies? From everyone?
-
If it was implemented then use logic here mountaintops damage is to high in pve so why not nerf the damage, master of arms in pve is beyond broke why not nerf just said perk? Because it would affect pvp also.... otherwise the two things people complain about most could be balanced properly.
-
Because neither of those are significant issues at the moment. They handled Recluse with its body damage decrease and Mountain Top with the abandoning of instant reload abilities. There's more effective weapons and loadouts out there than those as of the last nerf to Recluse.
-
Those are the main two weapons I see complained about it's the same loadout 24/7 always list those two weapons.... so they are clearly still an issue.
-
You say that, but I haven't heard anyone complaining about those weapons in several months. But I won't base my argument off of that because we've probably just encountered different people. My point is, the sandboxes are different and they have been for a while. Just because Bungie doesn't implement the changes you want to see, that doesn't negate that fact.
-
It's not changes I want to see it's common sense to have drastically different sand boxes for the two modes, they have no clear direction and sunsetting to drip feed back your gear isnt the answer and yes they already said they were going to do that.
