After 288 escalation protocols for my first Ikelos shotgun, 183 hollow lairs for my god roll mindbender, dismantling over 300 tranquility snipers till the one I wanted, killing riven 44 times for 1000 voices, doing scourge 68 times for anarchy, blowing up galarhand 32 times for tarrabah, about 50 gardens of salvation vex genocides to get the god rolled weapons there with still a god roll hand cannon and pulse rifle missing, doing over FOUR HUNDREAD insight terminus to get a god roll long goodbye, 500+ menagerie runs and still only have about 70% of the god rolls I want there and double that amount of runs in forges with still a blast furnace missing from my god roll collection I will state that there is no lack of exiting drop moments for me when I finally can stop the grind after getting my god roll. That's EVERY SINGLE WEAPON in my vault: a god roll with hours to months of farming behind it and is my sole drive to play the game. Now all of them will become obsolete in seasons to come thanks to sun setting. Try to put yourself in the shoes of collector players like me and many others and tell me why should I keep playing after this insult that is gear retirement? I sadly enjoy destiny very much since the launch of d1, but find myself unable to continue playing and moved over to other games that respect the time I put into them. To put it simple here is what I wanted for the game: in case I spent months offline and came back my reaction needed to be "Oh look how much new stuff I have to go after! More god rolls to chase, how do I get them, let me infuse my old god rolls to the new level so I can do the new activities (Strikes, raids, pvp, arenas, etc) and get the new weapons god rolls". Now for the love of god tell me WHY IS THIS such a bad thing for the players? Because this type of player seems to be what bungie hates the most and intentionally screws over the most. What I now have is this: "Ok, Im back after months, let me see what I missed... oh cant get them ever again... and my old gear, cant use it in new activities anymore... well I guess ill go back to check warframe then..."

  • Wow. You are part of the 0.000001% of players that have terrible rng. Bungie won't cater to you. Keep spamming this everywhere, I'm sure someone will eventually care.

  • Hahaha, got me there mate, but I have the emblems to prove it, and sure, i am hoping enough the playerbase will care about it if they dont already. But the only one I felt really screwed over rng was the ikelos shotgun, which took me around 4 days of only doing protocols back when it launched and the shotgun boss was first time available (Did that trick where you could redo just the final boss over and over and watched all my friends get the gun before me, but hey, someone would be the last to get...). The other numbers like the 500 menageries were for all the weapons I got there so far (70% of the god rolls there currently) and rng was generous with a few like dust rock and beloved (Sadly austringer took me around 30-40ish tries and I am still trying to get the perfect imperial decree). Forges also vary, I got my hammerhead in 15 tries, the sword in 7, but the god roll blast furnace (Feeding frenzy, kill clip, stability mr and flared magwell) still eludes me after 50 tries so far. The longest forge streak for me was for the prototype weapons, and i am still missing 2 god rolls (Galarand and acantha d). My point is, yes it sometimes got tiresome, but that is my main drive to play the game. And now I wont be able to use those hard won weapons in endgame and newer activities because they got an expiration date. Yes I certainly wish players would look at this and realize that is a blatant disregard for their time put into the game, specially collector players which I know are great in number. If you are not a collector and can get by with any ok weapon i have nothing against you, after all the whole moto of this game was "play it like you want it" but for players that like to chase and grind ever better gear it became "stop playing how you want it to or we will make you". Maybe i could convince you to be against sunseting, maybe not or maybe it doesn't matter for you, be it as it may hope you can get to play this game how you want it because i cant anymore.
