Need some clarification here...

I understand the concept of "power creep". However, I don't understand it in the context of Destiny 2. As it has been stated, Bungie wants to "sunset" weapons and armor based on a nebulous and, to my mind, ill defined concept of power creep. However, if what I suspect is correct, Bungie is 100% responsible for said power creep with the constant increase in light levels.. I am at a point in which I find there to be no reason to continually up light levels. A cap on said levels would be a constructive way to halt "power creep" and eliminate the need for "sunsetting". I say this because I have some weapons that I really like to use, but based on what has been stated, I'll be forced to use something else. Further more, there will be no reason for me to masterwork anything if it has an expiration date. Sunsetting serves no useful purpose. It simply confounds and frustrates the player base who would consider their efforts to improve weapons to be wasted. Also, this might prevent an inevitable bug in the programming that will come from making such changes.
