Guardian Games has been a total flop. Numerous people I play with and know are only taking part for the machine gun and the three ghost shells. Its another huge bounty orgy and its really quite tedious. Logging on to do the same bounties, get 5 solar melee kills, get 5 void grenade kills... yaaaaawn. This isn't a good or fun way to measure scoring for Guardian Games. You could have done soooooooo much sooooooo better. Award medals for performance. In crucible the winning team gets gold silver and bronze medals awarded to the top 3 players on the team. In strikes, number of total kills awards gold silver or bronze respectively. Raids whoever does most damage in boss phase maybe. You could have given us events, sparrow racing could have gone hand in hand with Guardian Games. You could have repurposed the menagerie too, imagine instead of the progress bar you do a menagerie run with 1 phase of every encounter and have no boss fight. You cant use your chalice power to get free easy loot though. But just imagine players running gauntlet and the first second and third player across the finish line gets gold silver and bronze. The arkborn awards gold for most souls banked etc. Same with most crystals broken. You could have done foot/parkour races too through the infinite forest, you already have the mechanics set up for checkpoints from SRL in Destiny 1, and the arc rift things from Exodus Crash strike. I'm not even scratching the surface of the potential, there was so much you could have (and should have) done. So much that would have offered fun, different, interesting ways of getting the classes competing against each other. Instead, you came up with a garbage system where every class can earn the same amount of medals by doing the exact same "kill X amount of enemies in X activity". Its not a competition. It hasn't been since you admitted to tweaking medal scoring. It hasn't been since you allowed medals to be earned on each character and not locked to once per day per account. It hasn't been since there's no actual figures anywhere about the medal counts. It hasn't been anything other than a stupid pointless bounty grind. Because let's be honest, 2 weeks after the event Xur will be selling the machine gun anyway. At this point I no longer care about the outcome because the competition literally means nothing. Its going to be a big statue that shows your class is better at doing bounties than the other classes... wow 🙄. Im just venting and offering some advice because what I do care about is the game itself (maybe you guys should try that sometime). After day one I was happy hunters were winning. After day two I was annoyed that titans had won but I was excited for a battle. After day three I was like "yeah but you ain't gonna win 2 in a row". After day 8 I'm like "yeah something isn't right here". I dont know if titans are cheating, I don't know if you've totally screwed up the balancing for the medals, I dont know if hunters just said "f*** it" and didnt bother after showing we could win it easily if we cared. But... something is not right and you guys really need to actually look into getting your s*** in order.
