Warlock Darkness Subclass Concept + Exotic in Bottom Comment

EDIT: Changed “Destiny” tag to “Destiny 2” :) — Hello! This is a concept for a Darkness based subclass I’ve put together. I’d love to see something similar to this, and I hope you enjoy it! (I’m aware it’s not even remotely likely lol, just here to have fun) P.S. I know it might look OP, but that’s kind of the point! :) — -Warlock Darkness Subclass- - Subclass name: Duskreaper - Element: Deep (dark violet/blue-black commonly associated with the Ascendant Plane) “Those deemed worthy of diving into the Abyss return as winged salvation.” — -Class ability (All Darkness Subclasses): -Aura- - Cast time: 1.75 sec - Ability time: 7.77 sec — Larger area and mobile (stays around Warlock, regardless of movement) at the cost of time active — Note: It does not damage enemies unless they are in close proximity to the Warlock, taking a very small burning type damage. This is because warlocks are both slow and squishy. It acts as a sort or “please don’t touch me” barrier for a short time to dissuade the other classes from closing in. — The Warlock draws on the forces of Darkness to consume cosmic energy for one of two effects. — Animation: — The Warlock makes a hugging motion into their self with a wave of black energy coming inward, and releases the Energy into their Dark Aura. Appears in near spherical area around Warlock. — - Can be activated midair (not suggested in PvP, you’ll die unless the enemy is an idiot) — Healing aura: — The Warlock devours cosmic energy in the area and releases it into their Aura, permeating themselves and the area around them with healing energy. (Imagine an aura of flowing Darkness surrounding the Warlock, flowing straight in and outward in all directions) — Empowering Aura: — The Warlock devours cosmic energy and releases it into their Aura, permeating themselves and the area around them with with destructive energy that gives a bonus to damage. (Imagine an aura of swirling Darkness surrounding the Warlock, flying in and outward in sort of “galaxy” shape) — NOTE: Aura has small blackmist trail effect when moving — Movement: — -Glide- — Rather than the notable Light radiating from you average Warlock, Glowing Black Energy will radiate as the Warlock glides. — - Controlled - Burst - Balanced — Grenades: — -Deepmist Grenade- — Hurl a sphere of Deep, dealing constant damage to enemies. (Think like vortex grenade) — -Spirit Hunt Grenade- — On hitting a surface/ enemy, it releases a circular area of energy to find enemies. From the center, swarming bolts of Deep energy track their targets. — -Abyssal Rage Grenade- (Warlock Only) — Similar to the Stormcaller’s Storm Grenade, the Warlock throws the ball of Energy at the intended target/ area. A barrage of Deep bolts fly downward and explode on contact. — -Super: Nightfall — Call upon the power of the Deep to form the Nightfall Great-Scythe. — Animation: — The warlock floats up as Blackmist wings coated in Deepmist emerge and Deep energy Eminates from their center. It forms in their right hand into a black great-scythe and coats both the caster and scythe in the dark violet/blue-black Deep. The warlock hovers over the ground and has attack animations similar to Lady Elfriede’s scythe from Dark Souls 3. In idle/ passive movement, the Warlock holds the scythe in one hand. Hilt toward the sky, blade toward the ground. The stance is elegant. — The Warlock summons the Scythe to smite down their foes. It casts wide, short-mid range waves of Deep energy that splash on contact. Hold the attack button to charge. Releasing after charging will send out a large, high damage wavelike orb of Deepmist energy that can travel longer range in a line in the direction the Warlock is aiming. — - Tap melee for regular attack - Hold and then release “fire weapon” button for charge - Charge time is 1.5 sec - Charge attack (Deepmist Orb) overpenetrates - Damage multiplies by 1.5 times per enemy struck by the Deepmist Orb — NOTE: Non-elemental melees produce a wave of Darkness rather than a wave of Light. — —Attunements: — -Attunement of Annihalation- (Top tree) — 1: Winnower’s Judgement (Melee) — Hold the melee button to conjure the Nightfall Scythe (Enter third person, similar to a shoulder charge or the Hunter’s third person melee). Release melee button to send forth a wave of Lingering Deepmist. Animation- swipe through blade of the Scythe along the ground. Forward, our and up. — - Charge time is 2 sec - Can charge while gliding if charging is started on the ground. - Can charge indefinitely but lose access to all weapons/ other abilities until released - Cannot sprint while charging - Sends the wave in a 45 degree come in front of the Warlock - Deals initial large burst of damage and leaves lingering Deepmist behind for 3 sec, dealing burn damage — 2: Pestilence (Passive) — Enemies struck or killed by any of your abilities are afflicted with “Pestilence” and left with a Deepmist effect surrounding them (if they still live). For every afflicted enemy killed, gain one stack (cap at five). For each stack, the Warlock gains a bonus to Grenade and melee ability regen. — - Pestilence buff lasts 11 sec - Buff timer resets to 11 sec with each additional kill of an afflicted enemy - Stays active on target for 7 sec after which it dissipates - Can’t afflict the same enemy further until their timer ends. - Maintaining five stacks rewards the Warlock with very noticeable ability regeneration 3: Ruinous Hex (Passive) — Enemies affected by Pestilence explode on death and spread the curse to nearby enemies. This can cause a devastating wave of curse explosions (similar to middle tree Sentinel). — 4: Author of Devastation (Super Augment) — Attacks by the Nightfall Scythe leaves behind high damage pools of Deepmist. Can now use a larger and more powerful version of Winnower’s Judgement by tapping “fire weapon” button — - Works with Pestilence - Deepmist Orb charge time reduced while pestilence is active - Deepmist orb will also leave a trail of Deepmist along its travel path, even vertically — -Attunement of Undeath- (Bottom tree) — 1: Soul Rend (Melee) — Short range Deepmist blast — Animation: both arms outstretched elegantly to release the wave of Deepmist almost as if giving a gift — - Restores 50% Aura energy — 2: Deep Well (Passive) — Aura lasts longer and recharges faster when allies are near. — 3: Vampiric Presence (Passive) — Kills (including super kills) while Aura is active start health regeneration and grant small bursts of ability energy to you and allies around you. — 4: Nimbus Tenebris (Super Augment) — A much Larger and more powerful version of Aura is active along with Nightfall. Tap “fire weapon” button to send a Deepmist pulse through your Aura — - Deepmist pulse starts at the Warlock, and quickly moves outward - Discourages attacks from behind in PvP - Allows the Warlock to get rid of trash behind them in PvE - Aura during super has a smoky tendril like effect on enemies within it (just for aesthetic) - Aura AoE dramatically increased while in Nightfall - Aura damage increased while in Nightfall - Aura now permeated with Deep Energy along with its original Blackmist (aesthetic) - Aura grows Darker the farther it goes out (Bright deep energy and Blackmist around the Warlock, getting darker as it goes out) — -Attunement of Deliverance- (Middle Tree) — 1: New Super: Abyssal Onslought — The Warlock spreads their blackmist wings and spreads their arms wide, creating an eye shaped portal of sorts. I call it the Eye of the Abyss. The warlock channels their vast power over the deep to let loose a bombardment, a hailstorm of Deepmist bolts that track the enemies and explode on contact. — - Channeled super, but similar to Chaos Reach in that the warlock channels for a short time in which they deal massive damage. - Again similar to Chaos Reach in that it can be activated mid air to hover while channeling the super, as will as change direction. - The warlock is meant to resemble an Angel of destruction, raining down calamity because, you know, badass. — 2: Subversive Wave (Melee) — Hold the melee button and release to cast an orb of weakening Deepmist at your enemies — - Damage is comparable to a charged melee - Releases as a sort wavelike orb, and travels to intended target - Over-penetrates targets - Capable of killing trash mobs with one hit - Travels a decent distance before dissipating - Animation similar to the melee from the Attunement of Undeath — 3: Astute Culling (Passive) — Killing weakened enemies (or if they just get killed) grants grenade energy. Grenade hits grant melee energy. — 4: Deep Rush (Movement) — While midair, double-tap the crouch button to Deep Rush in the direction of movement stick/ keys. — - Comparable to Icarus Dash, but goes 1.75 times the distance - Same cool down but only one cast - Can be turned mid blink, similar to Icarus Dash — Animation: Blackmist wings form to carry the Warlock. — - Forward: Arms down to the side, moving straight forward while tilted slightly forward - Side: Similar to Icarus Dash side movement - Back: Arms to the side, and moving back while tilted slightly backward
