Punishing Players Trying to Customize Their Loadouts

Why is it that I have to bend over the counter every time I want to do something so simple as changing the element of my armor, so I can put on a mod (which I also have to spend in-game currency on,) which is not compatible with the element my armor currently is? <= Which is another problem in of itself; all mods you have unlocked should be available for use on ALL pieces of armor, regardless of the elemental type of your armor. If you aren't going to do that, at bare minimum, don't make us pay for trying to customize our characters and their loadouts, as all players do in an RPG/MMORPG (which you like to brand your game as). In the end, I don't have ascendant shards, enhancement prisms, and enhancement cores just sitting around that I can spend just because I want to change a mod on my armor. Please, Bungie, address this.

  • Customizing loadouts in Destiny-speak consists of collecting the tools that can cover your relevant bases as a player so that you can swap weapons and armour to mix-and-match whatever range and mod selection coverage you want. Changing the element affinity on armour was added as a sort of drop-protection system so that players really only needed to worry about the stats and not if it also has the right element. The game doesn't really 'punish' players in this short of not having a feature to save preset loadouts.
