Let's say you did roll the element you wanted. You'd still have to spend materials to level up slots. That cost is exactly what you would spend to change elements, plus one upgrade module. It's not as bad as people are making it out to be. Like someone else replied with as well. All RPGs that I've played have a cost associated with resetting your skill points. This is Destiny's version of that reset.

  • Well in my case, I have a class item that is masterworked, and I realized after the fact, that the element I masterworked didnt have a perk I wanted (my fault). But then if I want to keep the energy level of my gear and change the element, I have to spend materials as if I’m remasterworking the entire piece of armor from scratch. I just think that once you have spent all your materials maxing out a piece of gear, you should be able to adjust the element for little to no charge. That just makes sense to me. And this truly wouldn’t be a problem at all, if all mods were available on every piece of armor, regardless of the element.
