They need to figure out what is causing the issue, before they can fix it. Unfortunately, you will just need to be patient and wait until they do.

  • Not sure what or why you think I'm defending. Haven't played since March 11th and even though I've had conversations with others about how I'd most likely keep playing thanks to the solid shooting mechs, I'm pretty sure I'm about done with the crap they're throwing our way. There's a solid campaign they could put together, but they choose to require us to follow the story outside of gameplay. That's fine for some, but not for me. If I get the SXIV replica helm and pin once this whole COVID bs is done I'll be happy. If not...I'll still be happy. It seems like they've bit off more than they can chew with the Activision split. Played a bit at the start of Worthy, and I'm just not feeling it. Power to those that are, but I've moved on to other games. I hang around the forums because I like to help those in need and I hope that I can find a reason to return to Destiny. If not, oh well...no love lost.

  • The issue is we aren't login out of session when we leave the game, the server isn't closing our session. This means when we try and log back in it won't let us or it does but then kicks us as our original session is still open. By now enough data has been gathered server side so why not just reset the servers on today's weekly reset to get people gaming again short term while a permanent fix can be deployed🤦🏻‍♂️.

  • Yup, I have seen that they have found the underlying issue, since I posted this. Why they don't just reset the servers today? That's their call. I'll assume it isn't as easy as that, especially when they can't go into the office. What happens if they try to remotely shutdown the servers for a restart, but then they can't bring them back on? Then the entire Destiny population is left unable to play.

  • I have a friend who does networking for banks and is still going to site for emergencies when the servers go down and can't be fixed remotely. They go in a team of 2 and keep to the social distancing guidelines with one working in the server room while the other monitors the network errors.

  • When Bungie do maintenance or push patches we all get logged out by them turning the servers off so I can't see why this wouldn't fix the session errors short term. I have other games to play so I'm not overly bothered and the bunker stuff is a bore already and I don't play much pvp so this season is empty anyway for a pve player.

  • I agree but the principles apply with regards to server access and social distancing which isn't hard in a empty office. The errors have come at a bad time for both gamers and Bungie and once the rest of the community start getting the same errors maybe a different approach will be taken. We shall see👍🏻

  • I also don't disagree with you. I like to try and take a "see it from all sides" approach to most things in life. I even have a habbit of playing Devil's Advocate with myself, at times. I do hope they are able to get a speedy resolution for those affected. 👍🍻
