Were you seriously expecting a fix? Trials are here to stay, Bungie will fix them in the next season, or the next (or the next). I mean when there will be a paywall.

  • No, paywall is dumb, I’m not paying money to the studio that can’t fix crap and actually give reasonable rewards for such a pinnacle activity. Further more, I’ve paid for Trials of the Nine already, no way I’m paying for a similar mode.

  • I thought the sarcasm in my reply was obvious.

  • Honestly, paywall solves a ton. Doesn’t eliminate the hardcore professional cheaters. But does eliminate the rampant joe-somebody who’s buying an aimbot knowing there’s no repercussions.

  • I hear this argument. I also believe that some players will always find a way, which will be democratized faster than Bungie can cope with. Trials should have simply been copy/pasted all the way from D1. It wouldn’t have resolved the cheating issues, but it will have been more enjoyable and rewarding for everyone. There must be some legal aspects about it that we don’t know about that have jeopardized it. Tbh I prefer seeing it that way instead of pure laziness or some employee needing to justify their salaries. Bungie are repositioning themselves and as much as I understand they need years for it and I want to support this franchise, bungie’s consistent inability to reward loyalty and dedication pushed me out definitely.

  • Actually, I think the thought behind this version of trials is superior. Tokens are better than bounties. It can keep people playing. It rewards time spent. Problem isn’t the structure, it’s in the execution. No adept weapons (or other rewards) means no reason to go flawless. Token farming more productive. So game experience on low cards is bad. On top of that, can’t turn in tokens unless 3 wins which we know only 10% of folks are achieving. Remove win requirement to cash in tokens, add in real unique/rare weapons at the lighthouse, exponentially increase token drops at higher parts of the card.... this smooths out all of the non-cheating non-network issues with trials and is better than D1.

  • Trials of the nine came with base D2. And you paid for the PvE content since trials of the nine wasn’t announced until D2s launch
