The Metroid series has most of my favourite video game abilities: screw attack, wave beam, power bomb, spider ball.
I also really like Splatoon 2's ink swimming and Prey's typhon abilities.

The day we get a fully-fledged single player Splatoon game is the day Skullgirls & Bloodborne get dethroned as my favorite games! It feels so nice just to move around in Splatoon, and the current single player modes—while great—just don’t take full advantage of it like Salmon Run or multiplayer do.

Yeah Splatoon has great gameplay. That's why I love its pvp. Not a fan of its singleplayer, but even that was pretty fun purely because of the great gameplay.

I enjoy its single player, but it’s certainly not as good as, say, a Mario game, because the focus is on multiplayer. If we did get a fully single player spinoff, though, it could be absolutely amazing! I’m thinking either a 3D Metroidvania or a collectathon, like Mario Sunshine.

Something like Batman:Arkham Asylum or Dishonored, but with squid powers/weapons. The inkswimming in particular lends itself perfectly to stealth level design, as evident by a couple of levels in Splatoon 2 itself.
Mmm, but I think it should have just been multiplayer only in that case.
I think the single player still serves as an excellent tutorial type deal. Plus, I really enjoyed the story. I’m glad it’s there!
I was thinking more an action-stealth game. Something like Batman:Arkham Asylum or Dishonored, but with squid powers/weapons. The Octo Expansion had a really fun stealth level.

If a game has great singleplayer and great multiplayer I'm all for it. I just really appreciate when a game has focus, and they're usually better for it.
I would be fine with that, too. I agree to an extent, but I also think it’s okay for a game to try multiple things at once. As long as all aspects of the game feel good, and not just tacked on, I enjoy it when a game branches out like that.

I agree to an extent, but variety can be a good thing and/or a bad thing.

I think it just depends on the quality. If nothing feels tacked on, then I’m fine with a dev mixing & matching as much as they want. It’s when things start to feel like they’re there for the sake of saying “look what we have!” that it’s an issue.
