  • Loss of connection. I never had any connection issues outside of certain competitive modes riddled with cheaters.

  • Thats not a dos at all. Thats a simple p2p kick from a bad host. Hopefully you didnt report anyone, as you would face consequences for false reporting.

  • No way I'd know which one of three did it. Network was overloaded for few minutes afterwards, did not have a chance to dump anything on my router before it ended. Definitely a ddos.

  • If it was a true dos attack, which bungie has no way of tracking, the router would have been disabled.. 5 mins to many hours. Certain brands of routers cant handle a packet flood and would completely burn out. You mention nothing of the router, just simply disconnecting... Which is a p2p kick. Isp can track dos attacks and pull packet logs , trace the flood and prosecute the party as a cyber crime

Actually yes i do. My son works with cisco cyber security and deals with them daily. Their customers also have cisco help them track down culprits for prosecution on packet floods. Bungie has no access to your traffic logs, only the logs from your router to their service. A true dos attack originated from another routing service, directly to your port. You have alot to learn about true packet floods lol

  • Meh. You cannot trace most of the ddos attacks, you can identify a botnet, maybe, not more than this.

  • Sure you can trace it... Its very easy with the right equipment. Every dos attack has an ip attached to it. Even if they vpn, there will be an address of some sort

  • What are you talking about? You can record hundreds of the botnet IPs. You won't see a trace of the originator.
