Low FPS?

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I hope i can get some insight on it. Basically I've been having terrible Fps problems recently. It does this thing where it is at a fine FPS rate, 60-70 for about 20 seconds, then it just nosedives to 15-20. This happens every single time I play, and it obviously makes playing the game in general a complete mess. I've been stopping the game literally 5 minutes after I first boot up simply because I just can't play at all. I've been playing the destiny franchise for a big part of my life(4 years maybe?), since I was a kid and thought that a Crota's end was just a strike lol. I absolutely love this game but I simply can't play it, anyone have any suggestion for possible help? Edit-I don't think that this is a performance issue, I have a wired network cable, more then half my drive space available on my computer, and it's always plugged in(i7 btw). This doesn't really have any relevance but if Destiny 2 drops Fps it does this for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY GAMES, even ones that never have any fps problems whatsoever

  • If you haven't already, use performance monitor or task manager to see if something is using up all of your RAM, Disk, CPU, or GPU. I had a problem the other day of game stutter due to windows having a problem backing up one of my disks.
