Destiny will always be the game that could be so good if.....
At this point it should be clear that the Destiny franchise will always be known as "The game that could have been so good if....". Trials is just the tip of the iceberg. Bungie takes one step forward and 3 steps back. They are completly clueless and out of touch with their PVP community. And this is not the casual players, Streamers or Top 1 % players fault. It's 100 % Bungies fault. Bad decisions after bad decisions.
There could be so many easy ways to revive the pvp player population:
One example: Give us an Rank and CBMM Unrank system to earn loot and titles from. Just Imagine an unranked playlist where you can earn Shader, Ornaments, a Title every couple Season, masterwork materials etc. from. Give us tasks to do like: earn 1000 final blow Headshots during Season 17 for this Shader, Kill 500 crayon eating Titans for this Emblem etc. etc. etc. It could be so easy to make people play pvp.....

Agree in full. It’s no particular area of the playerbase’s fault which I feel like no one can understand, it’s always blame the casuals or (way more often) blame the hardcore/streamers. I think it’s pretty clear that the company making the game has a really hard time with design philosophy even after 5 years of this franchise. I know you can’t completely please everyone but there are things that everyone wants, and I don’t mean specific activities or changes but I mean fundamental changes in the game’s design like better loot incentives, less bounties, less meaningless grind et cetera.

Trials isn’t the tip of the iceberg, it’s more like the thousandth straw on the camel’s back and it just won’t break because players keep coming back to this trainwreck every season.

If you thought Trials was going to be good after watching Bungie botch just about everything since Shadowkeep launched 5 months ago, you need your eyes checked. The iceberg has been in full view for months now. I’m not sure why the PvP community, even after straight being neglected for an entire year, thought Trials would launch well or be successful?

imagine how much better this game would be if design wasn't focused around retention for micros, and lowest dev costs to maximize micro profitability all of the eververse rewards would be in the game instead of the cash shop, grinds would be focused on large scale palatability and completion instead of focused on whatever segment holds the most whales that buy micros there wouldn't be this 'don't let the grind stop ever' mentality of design

5 RepliesAt times I think Destiny is too big for Bungie to truly support At least the season pass structure is. Honestly I'd be willing to go for another content drought if it means they can put more time and effort into their content

You’ve got it wrong, they can’t even take one step forward... they someone how messed up the copy and paste job of trials.... at this point I’m convinced they are so oblivious to their cluelessness. Hell, they can’t even deploy patches properly to fix the game. New exotics are constantly disabled, why? Cause they are incapable of delivering a finished product.

Well put honestly even at the highest point of D1 it still felt like everyone was reading the lore and actual story (that wasnt even in the gosh darn game) and thinking "man this game could have been so much better" and sadly it seems like thats all destiny is gonna be

They need to split and have a team work on pvp which is balanced separately, and a team that works on pve like developing new raids.

Definitely a case of what could have been.... they could even have developed an e sports mode where u get given set guns for that mode only.... -
They're totally out of touch with the players. Have half the community prefer sbmm and half cbmm? Make every playlist but 1 sbmm instead of a split... Players asking to toggle emblem stats? Remove all of them, wipe them clean and when the community gets angry bring back a select few. Take trials out for a year and a half to "work on it" then bring it back with old D1 armor and weapons (be sure to not include the cannon, pulse and lmg so you have something "new" next season), add in tokens no one wanted and remove all unique rewards from flawless while also making the most efficient way to get loot 3 game resets
