Strange I heard consoles are fine at least for me on ps4 but I’ve seen that on pc it’s a feast of error codes

  • That’s because consoles are fine. I get the occasional error from the tower, but NEVER during a crucible match. That’s with 4 consoles running simultaneously (3 with destiny, 1 streaming video).

  • I am on console (Xbox) with 300 MBs hardwired connection plugged directly into the router 6 feet away. No other games have connection issues, just D2. I realize with C-19 that stuff isn’t going to be the same as it used to be, but when I can’t finish a single crucible match without a “connecting to destiny servers” message or an outright disconnect then something is wrong. I am a pretty methodical guy, I ran checks on my connection, changed my cable to the router, reset the router, reset my Xbox, tried all my other games etc... I am left to believe that is is a Destiny server issue. It just sucks because I have like 1600 hours in this and it’s getting impossible to play anymore.

See, and I’m left to disagree. I have 450 Mbs down with 4 Xbox’s simultaneously running this game, and not once have i been disconnected from a match. I went to 5500 comp, played trials every weekend, no disconnects.

  • I suppose that we are running through different servers based on out locations. Guys I run with have much lower incident frequency than I do. However when we play ESO or Rocket league together we never have an issue. They are central and west coast and I am east coast. I am glad you are connecting fine, but I have no other explanation other than the bungee server I connect to. Do you recommend and other testing measures other than what I indicated previously?

  • I play with a person on the east coast and I’m on the west coast. He has worse internet, but I haven’t seen him disconnect from a game. Remember that D2’s p2p system doesn’t cause SOME issue, and is likely struggling under the increased load due to stay at home and telework orders, but it’s not all. I personally think that we should wait until everyone is back to work to see if these disconnects slow down before dumping all the blame on bungie. If you just tested and you’re pulling 300 on a normal load for your network, you should be fine. Are there multiple devices competing for the bandwidth to the point that some are getting knocked off (do you have to re-sign back into the game?)? If your wireless, try going wired (if you are, maybe I missed you saying that). What router do you have? Is it configured properly. It may have worked in the past, but when things change server side, it may result in things having to be changed on our end (kinda like the port issues that came up for PC users).

  • Thanks for the reply, at the time I was getting disconnected I was the only one home, so no competition for bandwidth from home. I am running wired connection to the router. The router config does seem fine for everything else. I may try a different port on the router when I get home from work. I realize that the strain on bandwidth world wide is an issue, and I am not an unreasonable guy and demand I get my play time. I don’t have a ton of time at the moment anyway as I work front line in a trauma center and am mostly exhausted when I get home. That said my post was originally frustration with trying to play destiny and unwind only to be booted from every match. I am still suspicious due to my other games functioning normally, however I am not a bungie or Destiny hater. Just really disappointed is all. Thanks for the suggestions, I will try it out and see. Good luck and stay safe.
