What story? The one where a space alien corrupted a dude and baited him with love? The most cookie cutter shit ever. Or the siege of Earth by an overwhelming force? That's like the first sentence of almost all B-roll sci-fi action films, the better ones have depth to them. Oh you meant the lore that is actually quite good but has driven the game on a "tell don't show" basis for years now Every story in this game has been a generic slog that never added on top of itself. All the actual interesting story has been used as bait on weapon descriptions, nothing more.

Great combat yes, great universe sorta, but story. What story? This games story is bi polar and that's putting it nicely. D1 had a great story compared to D2 which has no story that any same person could follow.

Great lore, SHITTY implementation of said lore. Their best angle is their art direction though. Beautiful -blam!-ing vistas.
