Is it possible to pull Not Forgotten without being an ultra sweat?

And I'm sure this is all completely relative to the player, but I feel like as soon as I hit between 4600 - 4800 I just can't compete anymore. My hands just cannot do the same thing as these people who can so easily nab headshots with snipers and in general move with such fluidity around the map. I consider myself a decent-to-good player, but at this point I think I'm just wasting my damn time thinking that it'd ever be possible for me to hit Legend. My glory hit 4950 today, but it feels like there's just an invisible wall over my head named elo. No matter how many hours I pour into this goal of reaching Legend, I just fail and fail and fail. Obviously I could get a carry, but to me that goes against the purpose of the whole thing in the first place. Is anyone else in the same place as me here, or has previously been in my shoes but maybe gotten over the hump? At this point I've just gotten so damn burnt out, it's making me want to quit Destiny altogether.

  • You don’t need the NF. Hard light is better.

  • I think it’s down to timing and being abit lucky.. I got to 5300 twice and dropped below 5000. Two seasons ago I finally hit legend it was on a Sunday and was a cake walk.. last season 5300 whilst on a 7win streak 2 games away from legend.. then lost 5-6 games in a row and I lost interest to getting the unbroken title.. f-k it you just have to get lucky games which normally don’t happen to me..

  • It's not too bad in freelance . I did 0-5500 in 2 days and even went on a 19 game streak in solos. You might just have been having an off day . Might also be that comp is a dead game mode and only the gatekeepers who somehow still find comp fun stay there. There is no loot incentive that is new , and it has been like this since the end of forsaken so yeah.

  • Yes it definitely is possible, but you need a bit of luck! Couple of seasons ago I dedicated some time in getting it done, and to my surprise I did! Keeping the streak up is key; once you hit 5, you can get away with 66% win ratio and make steady progress. So losses aren't the end of the world... may seem like it, but you gotta take the rough with the smooth. Attitude is also key, feeling negative after a first round stomp (easy to do) will pretty much guarantee the loss - keeping a positive attitude might help turn it around and put doubts in the opposite team! Likewise, there is no value on adding additional pressure on a game (if you lost the previous 1/2, for example). Try and go in clear headed or take a break until you are. Player support; later in the ranks I'd take a step back in my usual playstyle and play a support role (freelance) - I'd see where my team were heading and either flank or provide cover fire. Renegade can be a lottery; you just can't be certain which way the game will go! I had much more luck being the person who adapted to the team. Last season I wasn't so lucky, I got to mythic 2 and hit a wall... I don't think I had the mental capacity to do it two seasons running; it was a tough nut for me to crack! I think I was more desperate to get it done 2nd time around, so lost focus on what worked for me the 1st time.

  • If I did it so can you man. Just keep after it. That was the hardest thing I have ever done in Destiny. Bout lost my mind on a few occasions. Just keep at it. Don't force it.

  • I’ve hit a similar wall with my climb to legend but I’m determined and I’ve gotten a lot better because of it. Most of my problems stem from getting really poor matchups. I’m all for earning it but when the game throws that ultra sweat my way, it just kills the whole experience. Keep pushing forward!! I plan on doing the same.

  • Hold on. Is using NF considered "sweaty"? Cant NF be used by people whom are tired of hearing the Surous or any other auto rev up?

    • You can do it. Don’t quit. If you gain any progress, take a break . Don’t make the mistake of continually trying to win if you start losing

    • Yes. They have made not forgotten pretty easy to get ever since shadowkeep. They literally doubled the glory points you receive up to around 3500, made it so that losing doesnt even reset your win streak, and added a solo queue playlist. I feel like any fairly casual player can get it now if they put enough time and effort into it.

    • I feel you, with the SBMM it shouldn’t make a difference an the skill level of players you get at 0 glory to 5500 glory. It’s most likely psychological! I have to same thing happen to me when I get to around 3500 glory! Sadly I can’t play with my friends to get to 5500 as they’re more skilled than I am and SBMM means I can’t compete at their level. I hate the solo queue playlist. Constantly matched with people who burn through the lives then I get killed once and I’m knocked out! I’ve just come to the conclusion that I’m never gonna get NF, I’m just gonna enjoy playing trials on a weekend with my friends as that’s one activity we can actually do together because it doesn’t have SBMM!

Man, I picked up NF in season of the undying. That’s like a year later lol it took that long of slowly working my glory starting from 2100 being a struggle, to getting to 3500, to seeing the 4000s, to finally getting legend. It’s an uphill climb the whole way, but worth it more for the achievement than for the weapon. You’re gonna hit those walls. Keep at it, and you won’t even realize when you move past them. Im hitting that high 4000s wall right now actually (I think I’m at 4800).

    • You made it so far so just keep at it. There’s like three months of season left so take a breather if you need to. From previous experiences, comp gets easier towards the end of the season as most of the high-tiers are done.

It is, but it will depend on the season and your style of play plus some luck getting nice matchups or even disconnects from the other team.. I got it in season 8 and managed to get the mida catalyst as well but after that i lost many games and ended up near 5000.. It was a one in a lifetime kinda thing, and my eff is 1.4. At that moment i used thundercoil for easy melee kills with titan plus some mountaintop and luna. Keep pushing but don't push to the extreme that you aren't having fun.. Going with a dedicated team that you can trust and communicate is really important as well in those high glory matches.

And hey when you do get it reply to this post to tell me :)
