This is an astoundingly easy fix:
1. Make it so that tokens aren't rewarded until a card is completed (7 wins, flawless, or 3 losses), and the amount you receive is based on number of wins.
2. Make it so that tokens don't disappear after reset. (IB tokens don't disappear, and there are people who still have Faction tokens.)
These two changes would cut down on the farming dramatically. At the very least it would give "regular" teams some breathing room.

I still have thousands of planetary tokens.
-
When I do it i go until I lose which is usually around 6 then I reset
-
Then you're one of the good ones. Keep up God's work.
-
Good idea.
-
The other two things that need to happen are: 1. People need to call this what it really is: griefing. This isn't "farming." 2. People need to report these players in-game for it. Once enough of a case is built up, there will be some action at the individual or the system level.
-
Bungie won’t do shit if you report for griefing, they directly benefit from it since it inflates play time with early card resets
-
They also won't do anything about it if people aren't reported for it in-game. And when enough people are saying the same thing about the same person or people, they will start to notice.
-
They won’t do anything period. Streamers directly benefit from 1. Farming god roll weapons easy from pub stomping normal players at 3 wins and 2. Offering payed trials carries because getting past 3 wins is practically impossible for normal people now. Nothing will change, the trials loot system makes the game more grindy for normal people and gives streamers free content so they have no reason to change it
-
It is griefing, but the system encourages it. It's gonna happen until changes are made I think. I'm not sure reporting would work.
-
I agree that it will continue until something is changed - but a constant stream of in-game reports about griefing will help Bungie look at the data, and help them determine the appropriate change, by providing verifiable instances of griefing. Bungie is a software company, and any change they make is going to be based largely on available data or to align with the future roadmap - not how pissed off someone is on the forum, or YouTube, or Twitter about X, Y, and Z.
-
True, but how do we tell if someone is just on win one or if they're farming? Maybe Trials report? But even then people can put their info on private to make their match history hidden I think.
-
There are those third-party tools, sure - but in the end, "let God sort them out." In other words, just report them. Remember: Bungie can see everything. They'll figure out who's who and who's doing what.
-
Can see everything huh? Yes that's why they'llban an entire team, instead of the actual one cheating.
