In 2009, H1N1 influenza virus was detected first in the United States and spread quickly across the United States and the world, but we never call it "American Flu". The key is, the name of disease should not specifically point to a certain geographical location, any animal, human individual or group. This is a basic moral concept of modern culture society.

Since we are on the subject where did SARS originate ?

Edited by Wizdead: 3/20/2020 6:58:53 PMH1N1 actually started in Mexico, and it is called swine flu because it came from pigs.

There is no such a disease called Wuhan Pneumonia and that's all. Bungie called it COVID-19 and you should translate it as COVID-19.

The name might be different now, but it’s still the same.

I have linked the definition of COVID-19 on CDC, check it as you should. You could not find Wuhan Pneumonia on it which means Wuhan Pneumonia is misleading. Besides, this is a matter of localization rather than some stupid political views. As a translator myself I just want to say the localization team is very unprofessional. They have made several mistakes before like wrong description of exotics.
